For years we have seen a vicious cycle of societal harm, reoffending and prison overcrowding - but it doesn't have to be this way. The alternative already exists - and it doesn't need more money, just a new approach. We were enormously proud to host Georgia Gould MP, Cabinet Office minister, and Melanie Onn, MP for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes, yesterday at Thrive.NEL, our Northeast Lincolnshire #SocialPrescribing programme. ? The tailored support provided by Thrive has resulted in *35%+ lower hospital?costs* ?? than a comparison group, and an *11% reduction in GP usage* ???for a sample of participants – something we are able to evidence thanks to our ground-breaking data sharing agreement with the local #NHS. ? *What is Thrive?* ?? Thrive.NEL, in partnership with the brilliant Centre4, is an asset-based community health ‘social prescribing’ programme. Created originally by the visionary Lisa Hilder MBE,?it supports people living with long term health conditions to create sustainable lifestyle changes and improved self-care habits. Thrive’s asset-based model focuses on addressing social and environmental factors to support individuals on their journey. ? During their visit, Georgia and Melanie heard from #Thrive participants and Link Workers about their experience on the programme, and attended local Nunny's Farm for a taste of the community spirit which participants benefit so much from.???? ? BOP’s Kit MacInnes-Manby, Michelle Donnington, Grace Duffy and Mila Lukic also chatted to them about the #OutcomesPartnerships model: where instead of the standard public services commissioning model of paying for pre-specified activities which may or may not be effective, an Outcomes Partnership ensures commissioners (e.g. Local Authorities and the NHS) only pay when meaningful, genuine person-centred outcomes are achieved and evidenced. ? This change of focus enables better collaboration, unlocks flexibility and innovation in delivery, improves data and accountability, and achieves much greater value for the public purse. ???? ? Rolling out Thrive’s approach at scale could not only help many more people to lead healthier, happier lives, but could also help to reduce NHS #WaitingLists and increase #Productivity. #ThoughtLeadership l Outcomes partnerships are being used by governments to deliver higher-quality public services while ensuring better value for money. Yet, despite their proven impact, challenges in policy, perception, and institutional structures continue to limit their full adoption. In the latest report from?GSG Impact and Bridges Outcomes Partnerships, our colleagues?Sebastian Osorio and Pierre Hodel were interviewed to share learnings from our Latin American and Moroccan experience on building #outcomebased ecosystems to strengthen employment and workforce results. The report showcases these case studies as examples of how #resultsbased ecosystems can lead to scaling results in #government and the strategies for success.
