Thank you to our #Veterans! We're often asked about the invasion stripes on our Super Scoopers... We added these as a tribute to the veterans who have served our country, and to honor those veterans who actively protect our homeland from the growing threat of wildfires. (The invasion stripes were added to the allied aircraft for the D-Day invasion in Normandy in 1944. This allowed the allies to identify their own air support and limit friendly fire. See last image ??) #veteransday #honor #usa #aviation #aerialfirefighting #service #military

Yesterday, the Scooper teams provided aerial support on the Hudson Fire in Bastrop County, TX. This one is a big milestone for us—it's officially the latest date in the fire season that any Bridger Scooper has fought a fire. Scooper 284 left for College Station, TX, last week and is already in action. The US Fire Season moves around, affecting different regions at different times of the year. Having aerial resources pre-positioned and ready during high-fire-risk periods is critical to keeping these fires small, easily contained, and cost-effective to manage. Yesterday's update from the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management stated: "Heavy equipment made progress creating containment lines along the southern portion of the fire and was critically supported by aviation this afternoon." We're proud to be in #Texas, supporting the hardworking #firefighters and ground crews keeping their communities safe. #HudsonFire #texasfire #superscooper #aerialfirefighting

Scoopers 282 and 285 are now stationed in College Station, TX, ready to assist ground crews with late-season #wildfires. Pre-positioning these aircraft means faster response times, increasing the ability to tackle fires while they're still small and contain them early-on. #aerialfirefighting #wildlandfire #texas #collegestation #aviation

Safety is at the core of our mission. Scooping water from busy lakes during summer demands skill and careful coordination to avoid watercraft. Often, local Sheriffs or Rangers help clear the area for firefighting aircraft. During the Alexander Mountain Fire in Colorado, the Larimer County Rangers stepped in and cleared the lake so our Scooper team could operate more effectively. Our primary goal is to support the ground crews working on the front lines, and having a clear scooping lane makes it much safer to provide that overhead support. ??The US went back to Wildfire Preparedness Level 5?? When we hit Preparedness Level 5, we're federally at MAXIMUM commitment of firefighting resources. Yesterday, Scoopers 281 and 284 left for Bridger's first mission in North Dakota and are supporting the crews on the Bear Den Fire. To everyone involved, from the front lines to support roles: Stay safe! Resources are stretched thin, and your hard work is critical. #aerialfirefighting #northdakota #wildfire #fireseason

The Elk Fire in northern Wyoming has grown rapidly over the past week. It was caused by lightning on Sept. 27th and has now reached nearly 50,000 acres. Our Multi-Mission aircraft have been actively assisting with the firefighting efforts. To all the crews working tirelessly to contain this fire, stay safe out there! #ElkFire #AerialFirefighting #WildfireSeason #aviation #wyoming

Many things happen before the aircraft dispatches for a firefighting mission—whether it's a Scooper dropping water on a wildfire, an air attack providing aerial coordination, or sending up the MMA to deliver critical aerial maps to firefighters on the ground. Behind the scenes, a full team is working to support the mission. Every flight is the result of meticulous planning, training, and maintenance coming together in the off-season, so when our crews head into the field for the summer, we put forward the best possible aircraft and crew to protect communities and save lives. #AerialFirefighting #Teamwork #MissionReady #Wildfire

Montana’s wildfire season isn't over yet. Despite cooler temperatures rolling in, 57 wildfires still remain active across the state. During the 2024 Fire Season, reports show that 2,060+ fires have burned over 387k acres in Montana. ???? While much of the media focus on wildfires has faded, the danger is still very real. Wildland firefighters continue to risk their lives daily to protect their communities, and our team remains dedicated to providing them with critical aerial support on these fires. We're incredibly proud of our crews and the dedication they’ve shown throughout this fire season. Traveling across the country for months, they remain focused on the mission of saving lives, protecting property, and supporting the firefighters on the ground. Their hard work and commitment make a real difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their efforts. #aerialfirefighting #aviation #fireseason
As we near the end of fire season 2024, I want to commend the hard work of all the men and women who supported the wildfire effort. Closest to my heart are those maintainers who keep the firefighting aircraft safe so they can stay on mission. They are the quiet professionals and rarely get any praise. You have my deepest respect. Stay sharp, stay safe, and let’s continue to get our aircrews home.
