NEWS Bridge12 Sells its Magnetic Resonance/EPR Business to Bruker Natick, Massachusetts – October 7, 2024, Bridge12 Technologies, a leading provider of state-of-the-art, custom microwave, millimeter wave and terahertz systems for applications in plasma heating, material processing, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) applications announces the sale of its Magnetic Resonance/EPR business and product line to Bruker Corporation. The EPR product line of Bridge12 which includes high frequency EPR probes, spectrometers and other accessories has been advancing the state of the art in commercially available instruments in the microwave and terahertz frequency for application in structural biology and materials science. “The sale of this product line to Bruker, a leading provider of EPR spectrometers worldwide, will enable more researchers to access these cutting-edge instruments to push the frontiers of research in structural biology.” said Dr. Thorsten Maly, who will be joining Bruker as part of this acquisition. Bridge12 will continue its development of innovative, custom microwave, millimeter wave, and terahertz sources and systems with advanced capabilities for Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) enhanced NMR systems. The company will continue to grow its portfolio of  high power gyrotrons (100 kW – 1 MW) for application in plasma heating, instability control, and plasma diagnostics in the growing nuclear fusion market for developing commercial net electric fusion reactors. Most microwave/terahertz systems engineers have been there - using a giant rack full of expensive equipment to measure or monitor the frequency of a millimeter wave or terahertz source. Sometimes the time for setting up the system with a spectrum analyzer, local oscillator and amplifiers is a significant hurdle on completion of testing. Our new Frequency Measurement System (FMS) is a compact unit capable of monitoring operating frequency and spurious modes automatically. The unit is just 6.5x6.5x3.4 in dimensions and can be tucked conveniently near a source or mounted on the output waveguide. It can automatically search for frequencies over a wide band of frequencies or can track a given frequency over time. The unit can be remotely controlled with an Android/iOS tablet or phone or on a PC. It can be easily integrated into any control system. The system is available in bands from 35 GHz to 1 THz. It can make life simpler for researchers using solid-state Amplifier Multiplier Chains, gyrotrons and traveling wave tubes in #DNP-NMR and EPR spectroscopy.
