We love to collaborate with other organizations who have similar hearts! As we continue to grow services under our “Housing Resources” focus, we are excited about this partnership. One of the programs of Bridge of Hope National involves what they call “Neighboring Volunteers” ~ this is a group of 6-10 people (men, women, married and/or single) who will commit to walk alongside a family for 12-24 months as they work towards financial stability. As Bridge of Hope connects with families who are CV families & would benefit from this service, we thought it would be a beautiful gift to have the Neighboring Volunteers also be CV residents. Reach out to us if this is something you’d like to learn more about! If you are interested in learning more about what becoming a “Neighboring Volunteer” we’d love to connect!! #cvseeds #collabration #walkalongside #neighbors #cvcommunity

This week, Bridge of Hope recognizes National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (observed November 17th- 23rd) as a crucial time to reflect on the systemic barriers that lead to food and housing insecurity. For those experiencing homelessness, these struggles are compounded by intersecting inequities, including discrimination, stigma, and lack of access to opportunity. As we support individuals on their journey toward stability, we must approach this work with cultural humility—an ongoing commitment to understanding and respecting diverse lived experiences while recognizing the power imbalances that exist in our society. When Dalia and her two children moved into a rundown motel room after being financially forced out of their apartment, she learned that frugality, sentimentality, and feeling safe were too costly for her. A motel room is not a home. Dalia hopes that she and her kids will soon be able to move to a place with a kitchen where she can cook good meals. A place large enough to keep a few sentimental items. A place where her kids can safely play. A place where she can be frugal, sentimental, and feel safe. Will you make a gift to help a mom, like Dalia, create a home?
