What a momentous day for BRIDGE Housing in East Los Angeles, as we celebrated the Grand Opening of a brand-new affordable housing community in Boyle Heights! Los Lirios will provide 64 affordable apartments on a formerly vacant parcel immediately next to the Metro E Line Soto Station. ? Los Lirios marks our first partnership with Los Angeles Metro and East LA Community Corporation(ELACC), providing a beautiful transit-oriented community in the heart of one of LA’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Twenty units are dedicated to those who previously experienced homelessness, and comprehensive resident services will be provided by ELACC and PATH. ? We were honored to celebrate this milestone with Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, along with Ray Sosa of LA Metro, Monica Mejia of ELACC, Justine D. Gonzalez of Wells Fargo Bank, and many others. ? David Silva, a Los Lirios resident and a single father, said his new apartment has made a world of difference after experiencing homelessness for five years. “To feel hopeful after feeling hopeless is a feeling that’s hard to describe.” ? BRIDGE Housing’s momentous year of accelerated growth is continuing! Our acquisition of Bethany Meadows near Beaverton, Oregon, will prevent 340 affordable units from transitioning to market-rate rents, permanently keeping them within reach for households earning 60% of Area Mean Income. BRIDGE’s portfolio now exceeds 14,000 units in California, Oregon, and Washington, and we have more than 10,000 units in our pipeline of acquisitions and new development projects. BRIDGE Housing was thrilled to celebrate the opening of our newest affordable housing community on Wednesday! Vista Azul will provide beautiful, affordable homes for 70 families in Carlsbad. Located near retail and jobs, Vista Azul is designed for families earning between 30% - 60% of the Area Media Income, providing stability and opportunity in a high-cost housing market.?We were joined by an inspiring group including Carlsbad Mayor Keith Blackburn, Councilmember Carolyn Luna, Sierra Atilano, Mary Jane Jagodzinski, and Jeff Williams?of BRIDGE, Vista Azul resident Coral McIntyre, and many others. This is BRIDGE Housing’s third affordable community in Carlsbad, bringing our total impact in the city to over 500 affordable units. Throughout San Diego County we have 1,800 affordable apartments open or under development. Residents can access support services including nutrition and food security programs by Leah's Pantry and after-school education and youth enrichment by ALL-STAR ACADEMICS. We’re excited to announce the groundbreaking of Phase II of the Mayfair project in El Cerrito, CA! This transformative development will add 69 affordable apartments for individuals and families, next to the 156 market-rate apartments and retail space recently completed by Holliday Development in Phase I. BRIDGE Housing is excited to announce the launch of a new property search function on our website. Too often, it is challenging for prospective residents to navigate online resources for affordable housing. Our new tools streamline the search process, making it easier to find available BRIDGE units across our 100+ communities along the West Coast. The new search tools include an AMI calculator (by County) and customizable navigation choices, including zip codes, regions, unit sizes, rent levels, and more. ? This year’s BRIDGE Scholarship Luncheon was one for the books! ? The BRIDGE team celebrated 60 new scholars yesterday at a festive luncheon attended by more than 150 people at the City Club of San Francisco. The group of BRIDGE residents was awarded over $450,000 to support their post-secondary education. ? This year’s scholars included Eriyah Diaz, a BRIDGE resident in San Francisco who is studying at Howard University and dreams of becoming a surgeon. Other scholars plan to attend law school, get a master’s in applied data science for business, and study public relations. It was incredibly impactful to hear how this program is helping our scholars realize their goals and aspirations. ? We were thrilled to raise more than $537,000 at the event this year, the most we have ever raised at a scholarship event!
