Many of our government partners are accomplishing impressive things. Let's look at what one of those teams -- the SRT TAP Lab -- is working on at the Innovation Hub. The Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking TAP Lab is one of the three tools, applications, and processing labs that call the Innovation Hub home. This lab supports the TacSRT pilot program, which was developed by Space Systems Command and utilizes commercial and publicly available data to provide timely surveillance, reconnaissance and tracking products to Space Force combatant commands. TacSRT is designed to take advantage of the speed and innovation of the commercial sector resources to make real-time modifications and improvements to maximize analytical benefits for warfighter needs. According to Space Systems Command, "TacSRT provides a rapid, dynamic, and competitive acquisition process for commercial vendors to receive taskings and deliver analytical products using space sensing data through the Global Data Marketplace (GDM)." In early January, the SRT TAP Lab will host an industry days event at the Innovation Hub. They'll welcome any and all new vendors previously interested in TacSRT to come and demo their technology. The Lab team will help those selected for collaboration onboard into the GDM to work TacSRT ops. The SDA TAP Lab and other Innovation Hub partners will also participate in this industry day event, opening more doors for industry-government collaboration. Stay tuned to learn more about this upcoming industry day event and how to get involved! Our other government partners are also finishing the year strong at the Innovation Hub. Next week, BC/CTO Brian DeLong will host Waffles on Wednesday followed by the team's next Wisdom Session. The latest in this lunchtime speaker series will welcome Erik Linstead, senior engineering specialist in the Data Science and AI Department (DSAID) at the Aerospace Corporation and tenured Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Chapman University in Orange, CA. He'll discuss the Unified Data Library and efforts to integrate language learning models. Another busy week draws to a close at the Innovation Hub, with 17 events bringing in hundreds of new and returning visitors. Throughout the week, the SSC/BMC3 team welcomed in over 150 industry partners for their Joint Antenna Marketplace Industry Day. The event kicked off in the open area with the BMC3 leadership team giving an overview of the program before moving into an industry wide networking event. After enjoying some Wednesday morning waffles with BC/CTO Brian DeLong, the JAM team hosted one-on-one meetings with various industry partners. The 1st Test and Evaluation Squadron, in partnership with the Army’s 10th SFG, hosted their goTenna space event. They started with a program overview, training, and field testing before successfully using the technology to establish direct network communications with participants in North Carolina. The SDA TAP Lab welcomed back Dr. Jim Shell for an expert talk overviewing space domain awareness. He also discussed his Dungeons and Dragons program -- which recently won the SSC Fight Tonight competition. The SRT TAP Lab team met at the Innovation Hub to discuss the Defense Innovation Unit's (DIU's) Hybrid Space Architecture (HSA) program -- which seeks to provide internet connection throughout space. The SRT TAP Lab supports one of the Fight Tonight competition's runner ups, SSC's PRIMER program. Learn more about the Fight Tonight competition and award winners here: https://lnkd.in/gRMjv2-n The Space Rapid Command and Control team, SWAC, SSC/BCS, and SSC/BCT teams also all hosted events in the Innovation Hub this week. We're excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for our government teams! #InnovationHub #SCC #FightTonight #DungeonsandDragons #Space Shannon P. Last week, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration Mr. Frank Calvelli issued a memorandum approving the use of a Software Acquisition Pathway for the Unified Data Library. This program -- which is managed by Innovation Hub partners SSC/BCTI -- started out as a Small Business Innovation & Research (SBIR) program through the Air Force Research Laboratory. According to Major Jacob Turing, program manager for the UDL, notably few programs transition to an official DoD program. The Space Force intends for the UDL program to be the single source for accessing and managing data that support operational systems. It will have a secure data storage and distribution system to carry out necessary mission operations and enable timely decision making for multi-domain warfighting. The UDL program has entered the planning phase, and over the next several months will establish acquisition strategies and documentation. Upon completion of that step, the BCTI team will enter the execution phase. We're excited to see what this great program will become! #Innovation #SpaceForce #BCTI #SIBR #UDL?Daniel Kimmich Shannon P. Alexa E. Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation

Last summer’s #STEM camps have not only grown in significance, but also in overall reach! Compared to 2023, the 2024 camps saw an increase in total students, debuted the new #Coding Camp, and even hosted a camp for elementary aged students! The BRICC PIA STEM team powered by Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation saw a total of 190 #students this year that drew in kids from counties throughout the National Capital Region. ? Imani Myers, PMP, Kelsey Southard, Marcela Rickett, alongside the summer STEM Educators successfully sparked the curiosity of every young mind that came to participate. They did this by facilitating enriching curriculums and activities such as rocket launches and drone flying. We highly anticipate next year’s camps, and we encourage all parents to stay informed! The VT-ARC team at the Innovation Hub is gearing up for an exciting week ahead out in Colorado Springs. With 15 unique events lined up for next week, let's take a look at the exciting things our government partners are doing. Starting on Tuesday, the SSC/BC team will host an industry days event for their Joint Antenna Marketplace mission. This event will kick off with around 200 people from industry and government in the open area, where SSC leadership will provide an overview of the program and discuss challenge areas and desired solutions. Afterwards, industry partners will get a chance to meet during an interactive networking event. Throughout the rest of the week, members of the BMC3 team will welcome various industry partners for one-on-one meetings to garner feedback on the program. Also, next week, the 1st Test and Evaluation Squadron will do a live field demonstration of their goTenna technology directly outside the Innovation Hub. This unique networking company provides inexpensive, off-grid connectivity for long range communications. They'll start on Wednesday with a program overview, training, and field test planning. On Thursday, they'll test communications between Colorado and North Carolina. Now that Cohort 5 is up and running in full force, the SDA TAP Lab will welcome back Dr. Jim Shell for another expert talk. He'll give an overview of space domain awareness followed by a discussion of the Dungeons and Dragons data program he works on. The SRT TAP Lab, SWAC, BCT, BCS, SpOC, and more will also host events next week.
