We're gearing up for Rumble in The Kingdom! This year's pitch competition is presented by?Do North Coworking?and Black River Innovation Campus, generously supported by our gold level sponsor M&T Bank, and silver level sponsors Passumpsic Savings Bank, and Northeastern Vermont Development Association. We're excited for several of our Actuator Alumni -?hūmNET, Blackwell Ink, and ElecGrid to pitch at this exciting event! The Pitch Competition is free and open to the public. Join us at Catamount Arts to support the region's most promising entrepreneurs. You'll hear pitches from 12 businesses, and have the opportunities to connect with others passionate about supporting entrepreneurship in the NEK and throughout Vermont. In addition, everyone in attendance gets to cast a vote for who they think should win the Audience Choice award! Light appetizers will be provided and there will be a cash bar available while you listen to business pitches. Doors will open at 5:30pm and the competition kicks off at 6pm. 12 businesses and ideas will each do a 5 minute pitch, showcasing their business and its potential for growth in Vermont and beyond. Pitchers will compete for $20,000 in cash prizes, including: ?? Best Pitch, $5,000 ?? Community Impact, $5,000 ?? Potential to Scale, $5,000 ?? Meet storyteller and Friend of BRIC, Maddy Bodin! Maddy has been a magazine editor, a freelance journalist, an essayist, and a content marketing writer. She believes in the power of story – to entertain, to inform, and to persuade. She has studied and thought about what we expect from stories in 21st century America, and how those expectations can be used to market a product, a service, or an idea. She has written about narrative for the journalism publication Nieman Storyboard and put her ideas into practice in stories for publications such as The Atavist, Narratively and Smithsonian Magazine.
