Early detection saves lives. We are grateful to the Women of Washington Hebrew Congregation for hosting our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Brem Rachel and Dr. Christine Teal for an insightful discussion on breast health and risk-based screening, and for spotlighting their groundbreaking book, No Longer Radical: Understanding Mastectomies and Choosing the Breast Cancer Care That’s Right for You. With the knowledge shared, more women can make informed choices about their breast health and ensure the early detection of breast cancer when it is more treatable. #BreastHealth #EarlyDetection #NoLongerRadical #BremFoundation

“Removing barriers to screening and detection is one of the most impactful ways that we can increase the survival rates for this disease. A family history of breast cancer doesn’t have to be as terrifying as it was to so many Americans. We have the tools available to take charge of our future: we just need to make sure that all women can use them. I encourage you all to keep up the hard work and pressure in support of early detection.” —CONGRESSWOMAN ROSA DELAURO— Brem Foundation’s 2024 Impact Award Winner Join advocates, supporters, community leaders, and partners on April 30, 2025 at 12 PM EST at the Salamander, Washington DC, to celebrate the power of early detection, the promise of innovation, and leaders shaping the future of breast health. ?? Did you know that 71% of breast cancer cases in women under 50 were found by women themselves? As we go about our busy lives, it's essential that we prioritize our breast health. This month, remember to take a moment to do a breast self-exam because early detection saves lives! Healthy breasts have normal “lumps and bumps”, but if you notice any unusual changes, consult your healthcare provider to get it checked. Share this post with your loved ones and remind them to be breast aware and pay attention to any changes. ??
