It's Stormwater Awareness Week!! This week, we emphasize the importance of stormwater management in safeguarding our environment and communities. Stormwater management is critical for communities as it helps to mitigate the negative effects of heavy rainfall. Typically, our solutions include pipe network systems that convey the stormwater to a detention facility that will meet peak flow and runoff reduction requirements. Breedlove prides itself on incorporating stormwater solutions in the beginning phases of a project to mitigate conflicts and redesign. While design elements like this may seem behind the scenes, we also take opportunities to improve the aesthetic value of our projects. Rain gardens, bioswales, and other green infrastructure elements can create attractive and inviting public spaces. With this in mind, BLP always tries to find the best solution for the client and the user. We want to honor and remember those who lost their lives as well as the brave first responders who gave their lives to save others on this day 23 years ago. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire future generations to stand united. Let us take a moment of silence to reflect on the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to the resilience and strength of our nation in the face of tragedy. What better week to celebrate the dedication of the University of Georgia's Sanford Stadium Southside Improvements than the week of the first home game this season. Breedlove Land Planning worked alongside Turner Construction Company, HOK, Koons Environmental Design, and Johnson, Spellman & Associates, Inc. to provide civil engineering services for this impressive project, ensuring that the expansion not only enhances the fan experience but also meets all necessary safety and environmental standards. Breedlove Land Planning partnered with Precision Turf LLC on the design-build of the City of Decatur’s Ebster Field. The renovation included a natural turf field conversion to a lighted synthetic turf field.?The project also involved the installation of a new drainage system to ensure optimal playing conditions. The upgraded field now allows for extended hours of use and increased durability, benefiting both athletes and the community as a whole. Please join us in welcoming our newest team member Mihir Kothari! Mihir Kothari received his master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia in May 2024. Having completed his undergraduate studies in architecture, he worked in India for two years before moving to Georgia to pursue his graduate studies. Mihir's experience in architecture allows him to bring a unique perspective to his work, combining elements of both disciplines for innovative and sustainable design solutions. His time spent working in India also gives him a global perspective that enriches his approach to projects. In his free time, Mihir enjoys cooking, watching movies, and swimming. We are excited to have Mihir on board, and we look forward to the fresh perspective and expertise he will bring to our team.?
