??Profound Post Election Conversation ?? Hey LinkedIn Community, Today folks are feeling A LOT of emotions here in the USA and abroad.? A dear friend encouraged me to actually publish the text conversation we had this morning as my response speaking to her heart really resonated for her.? Check it out below...... An After Election Convo Between Two Black Sistas It is the morning of November 6, 2024.? The day after the BIG US ELECTION.? I awoke to a text from a girlfriend who happens to also be a Black Woman, but does not live in the US.? Girlfriend: ”..WTF has America done? How on earth has this been allowed to happen?” Me: FEAR...uncertainty, not ok with how things were done these past 4 years, not having a candidate that reflects what is actually wanted and needed, and of course the, "I'd rather live in hell than to have a Black Woman lead me." Girlfriend: Black women like us are kryptonite to w**tey. Sadly this shows who they are, that they would rather have a convicted felon with a dodgy track record, friends and funding. Me: Yes. ?? However, even in this loss, there is VICTORY. For ceilings have been shattered, thoughts and methods questioned and new inner fires of women and girls across the land have been ignited for good; to continue to fight for respect, for our voices and for a future that really can exist. This is not the last time, but one of the firsts in a LONG history of women and Black Women PUSHING AND PULLING to be seen, heard, respected, listened to and BELIEVED IN. Yes, it doesn't look good right now, and yes it didn't look good at many times in the past, HOWEVER, we didn't stop, we didn't fold. ..WE KEPT GOING and that's EXACTLY what will continue happening. ????♀?We must BREATHE into our Souls, our Ancestors and our Spirit Guides. ????♀?We must GROUND into our Goddess Power. ????♀?We must CREATE and SUPPORT the things that make us, US and keep keepin’ on.
