?? Breaktime is so excited to share that our first two cohorts of the year—both virtual and in-person—have officially wrapped up Launchpad! For the past few weeks, 10 young adult Associates have been engaged in job training and financial literacy sessions to boost their skills as they navigate the workforce. Now, these incredible young adults are taking the next step toward housing stability through transitional supported employment with Breaktime partners. Join us in celebrating their hard work! ??? #breaktimeboston #nonprofit #empowerment #homelessness #advocacy #community #launchpad #liftoff #equity #breaktimehub

?? Homeownership is one of the most powerful ways to build wealth—but systemic barriers have made it far less accessible for Black households. The persistent homeownership gap continues to widen racial wealth disparities, making it harder for Black families to achieve financial security. Addressing housing inequities is essential to breaking generational cycles of poverty and homelessness for young adults. #breaktimeboston #nonprofit #empowerment #homelessness #youngadults #advocacy #community #employment #awareness #blackhistorymonth

??? Systems-level change is needed to address racial inequities. As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to a close, Breaktime is proud to spotlight Black leaders who have led the fight for racial justice through advocacy and community organizing. Their work continues to transform conversations around equal education, workforce development, and criminal justice reform. Join us in uplifting their voices and work beyond the month of February. #breaktimeboston #nonprofit #empowerment #homelessness #youngadults #advocacy #community #employment #awareness #blackhistorymonth

??? Last week, Breaktime’s Community Outreach team threw a self-love pop-up to celebrate and support our young adult Associates! Huge thanks again to the Boston College Graduate Students of Color Association, Give n' Glow, and Circle of Hope for helping us make it happen—young adults got to take home goodie bags filled with hygiene essentials, makeup, cozy blankets, and more. We are grateful to collaboratively create opportunities for our community to feel seen, valued, and cared for! #breaktimeboston #nonprofit #empowerment #homelessness #advocacy #community #partnerships #equity

?? If you're a young adult experiencing homelessness, "you could literally take a shower, do your laundry, get job training, meet with your case manager, get therapy and do your physical all across three floors." Breaktime's vision to expand our support for young adults through our new Hub was featured by Axios this week! We are thrilled to hear that Breaktime may be the first of many community organizations reclaiming and leveraging space in the heart of Boston. ?? The theme of #BlackHistoryMonth this year is “African Americans and Labor,” a theme that is particularly important to us. According to our 2024 data, at least 61% of our Associates identify as Black or African American. This is not a coincidence—it serves as a stark reminder of the systemic barriers that limit Black young adults from entering and advancing in the workforce. These barriers directly result in a disproportionate impact of young adult homelessness on Black communities. This month, and always, raising awareness about the deep-rooted hurdles in the labor system is crucial to begin bridging the gap in racial inequities. #breaktimeboston #nonprofit #empowerment #homelessness #youngadults #advocacy #community #employment #awareness
