?? Breaktime is so excited to share that our first two cohorts of the year—both virtual and in-person—have officially wrapped up Launchpad! For the past few weeks, 10 young adult Associates have been engaged in job training and financial literacy sessions to boost their skills as they navigate the workforce. Now, these incredible young adults are taking the next step toward housing stability through transitional supported employment with Breaktime partners. Huge thanks again to the Boston College Graduate Students of Color Association, Give n' Glow, and Circle of Hope for helping us make it happen—young adults got to take home goodie bags filled with hygiene essentials, makeup, cozy blankets, and more. The theme of #BlackHistoryMonth this year is “African Americans and Labor,” a theme that is particularly important to us. According to our 2024 data, at least 61% of our Associates identify as Black or African American. This is not a coincidence—it serves as a stark reminder of the systemic barriers that limit Black young adults from entering and advancing in the workforce. These barriers directly result in a disproportionate impact of young adult homelessness on Black communities.
