We would like to give a very warm welcome to our new Triangle Market Development Coordinator, Hanah Rose and Triangle Market Development Manager, Steph Caronna! Hanah was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Appalachian State University. She later went on to receive her Graduate degree from Meredith College in teaching. Hanah is formerly a fourth grade teacher and most recently came from a local non-profit. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, loves all things Disney and is getting married in May! Steph is originally from Upstate New York, but was raised in Apex, North Carolina. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Steph was formerly in the restaurant and hospitality industry for over 20 years and gained her passion for non-profit work and event based fundraising while working at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Steph enjoys spending time with her dog, gardening, and cooking! #BreakthroughT1D #T1D

We are pleased to welcome Heather Bertuccelli, our new Executive Director, to our North Carolina Team! Heather is an experienced Non Profit Director, who is excited to take on the role as the new Executive Director for Breakthrough T1D's North Carolina Chapter. Heather attended CSU Sacramento in California with a concentration in Organizational Communications before starting her career in non profit in 2010. She spent the next 10 years helping children and adults who suffer from Neuromuscular diseases with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Wearing many hats under that organization from Fundraising Coordinator, Director of Business Development, Distinguished Events Director, and Executive Director, she helped lead her market in fostering relationships, growing their Walks, Galas and Cause Related Marketing Campaigns, along with creating new income revenue streams for years to come. After Covid, Heather made the transition to Make-A-Wish, where she led Corporate Philanthropy for the past three years. She has surpassed record breaking revenue goals and created relationships that will only help her in this new role with T1D. She is excited and honored to call Breakthrough T1D her new home. Her years of non profit experience and the eagerness she has to help the mission will make the transition to this role as smooth as possible. #BreakthroughT1D #T1D
