On Saturday, January 25, 2025, we had the incredible opportunity to participate in Breakthrough Miami’s Mock Interview Day, an inspiring event designed to prepare scholars for success. This initiative helps students develop interview and presentation skills, enhance professional etiquette, and position themselves as strong candidates for college admissions, scholarships, and career opportunities. Starting in 2012, MBF has provided financial support to Breakthrough Miami ensuring that motivated, under-resourced students from the City of Miami have access to excellent educational opportunities. The evidence-based program currently operates at five independent school sites (Ransom Everglades School, Miami Country Day School, Carrollton School for the Sacred Heart, Palmer Trinity School, and Gulliver Schools) and at the University of Miami (during the summer). Julie is an accomplished professional with experience in higher education and a proven track record in strategic leadership, operational management, and programmatic excellence. Her career highlights include driving high-impact initiatives, leading teams, and spearheading community and STEM education outreach programs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and behavioral sciences from Barry University. Adding a wealth of higher education expertise and experience to our team, Julieta will work directly with our Breakthrough U Scholars and families to maximize their high school experiences and support their pathways to college and beyond. Outside of her professional achievements, Julie delights in spending time with her family, enjoys reading, traveling, and is a devoted FRIENDS fan who loves a good laugh with the iconic show. Our Breakthrough Miami Village has engaged with The Underline in a multitude of ways, including the Breakthrough Miami x Underline Ambassador partnership ignited in 2021 that allowed our Scholars to expand their knowledge in public art, design, and horticulture while building their network and sharpening their presentation skills in a unique paid service experience. Additionally, in partnership with Miami Dade College, The Underline’s Budding Entrepreneurs program was born, aiding student entrepreneurs in their small business ventures, including Breakthrough Miami Alumni Jaheim Golden at his pop-up event for the Golden Relief Orb at the Underline in 2021.
