New series! Billion Dollar Arcade merges the humble beginnings of video games with their current multi-billion-dollar status. The playable pieces, including Pong, Breakout, and Space Invaders, are controlled through tracking your body movements. The difficulty of each game adjusts based on the real-time valuation of the video game industry, determined using real-time stock prices. The first three pieces in the series, each in a limited edition of 8, will be unveiled in person with Oliver Cole Gallery at Art Miami from December 3rd to 8th. #art #data #arcade #stockmarket #artmiami #artbasel

In my “Gusts” series, I envision these pieces as dynamic weathervanes, capturing the essence of global climates through real-time wind data from a city of the collector’s choosing. Each sculpture is a living entity, responding to the invisible movements of the wind. When approached, the piece reacts to you, symbolizing how our actions leave an imprint on the environment, much like the lasting impact we have on the climate. Sitting amongst a great lineup for the opening panel at #CODAsummit tomorrow.

Outdoor, data-driven sculpture has been our focus this year, particularly in developing a new medium we internally refer to as Rings. We plan to unveil the first sculpture using this new medium toward the end of the year. Shown here is a concept render of one of the designs we explored earlier this year, called *Echo of the Falls,* which moves in response to the Big Sioux River through sensors in the water. The form and aesthetic are inspired by three major influences in the history of Sioux Falls: the wood representing the land, the pink quartzite used in the city's first structures, and the steel that became a key industry that fueled the city's growth. #publicart #dataart #contemporaryart #kineticart #siouxfalls
