"When people are hungry, when they’re thirsty, when they’re naked, when they’re in need—does God’s love abide in our hearts in a way that results in us helping them." At this week’s Prayer Vigil for Foreign Aid, James Standish, Director of Legislative Affairs at ADRA International, reminded us that even with our theological differences, our faith unites us in a shared calling—to take action and care for those in need. #FaithInAction #PrayerForForeignAid #EndHunger

Earlier this week, 83 percent of all U.S. aid contracts were cancelled. Without this lifesaving aid, tens of millions of people will be at risk of losing access to clean water, sanitation, nutrition assistance, and medicine. Children are especially vulnerable unless these programs are restored and protected. Take action now by emailing your members of Congress and urging them to restore and protect lifesaving aid programs: https://lnkd.in/eSNnaCUf

On Tuesday, Christian leaders representing lifesaving aid implementers, advocacy organizations, and their allies, held “A Prayer Vigil for Foreign Aid.” Hosted by Bread for the World and the Accord Network, the Christian leaders and aid supporters joined together to pray for and urge the administration and members of Congress to protect lifesaving aid. Without lifesaving aid, tens of millions of people will be at risk of losing access to clean water, sanitation, nutrition assistance, and medicine. Children are especially vulnerable unless these programs are restored and protected. We are grateful to the Christian leaders and all who joined us in prayer. By lifting our voices together, we can encourage our leaders to answer God's call to serve our neighbors in greatest need.

Yesterday, Bread for the World cosponsored a prayer vigil for foreign assistance to pray and urge the administration and Congress to protect lifesaving aid. The event featured speakers from several Evangelical Christian groups, including Bread president and CEO Rev. Eugene Cho. "These indiscriminate cuts are not just a policy failure. For us, especially, as followers of Christ, as uncomfortable as it may be, we must clearly … but prophetically, say: it is also a moral failure.” Read the article from Jack Jenkins of RNS here:?https://lnkd.in/edekKnn2
