    I showed my sales team Perplexity Deep Research yesterday. They were blown away. We had an MSP prospect come to our website and fill out a form requesting more information about our platform. I took the company name and person who filled out the form and asked Perplexity Deep Research to find out everything it could about the MSP “Tell me everything you can find out about ABC MSP and Michael Corn (names changed) How many employees do they have? How many clients do they have? Do they focus on M365? Are they discussing AI with clients? What is their estimated revenue? Tell me about their managed services? What MSP tools do they use? Where are they located?” In less than 5 minutes Perplexity came back with a detailed research report on the company and the person. (Redacted report below) Some questions and thoughts come to mind: Could our sales team research and find this information? Absolutely, it is all public information. But they couldn’t do this research in less than 5 minutes. Do sales people do this research before talking to a prospect? Some better than others Does having this insight on the company and the person the salesperson is talking to help with the conversation? Absolutely. My sales staff was really excited to be able to get this insight ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini all have this Deep Research capability. Some of them don’t require a subscription. Now every salesperson, SDR and Account Executive has a research assistant that makes their job easier. This shows the true power of generative AI in employee’s hands. This is why AI Awareness Training is so important. Teaching employees how to leverage these powerful AI tools will help them do their jobs more effectively. Just knowing that these tools exist is a competitive edge. I had Perplexity redact and change of the names and information. I also condensed the report to fit in this post. The full report is 5x larger with much more detail.
