Ambassador Spotlight:?Rose Beck If you’ve been in Calistoga very long, it’s likely that you know Brannan Center Ambassador Rose Beck and that she knows you. Rose was born at St. Helena Hospital, and she was raised in and has spent nearly her entire life in Calistoga (other than a short stint in Santa Rosa after she got married). “In Calistoga, we’re a family,” says Rose. “You walk down the street, and people are so warm and welcoming.” When Rose heard the vision for Brannan Center several years ago, she immediately knew she wanted to be involved. “In high school, I attended dances at the Green Church,” she explained. “I hated to see the building close, and I was so happy when many of my longtime friends dreamed up Brannan Center because I knew we needed it.” Rose believes Brannan Center will be a strong resource for the community, and she is especially excited for it to be available for groups who need a high-quality space for their meetings or functions. After attending a recent tour of Brannan Center under construction, Rose said “People are going to be so thrilled. They’d never guess from walking by what’s inside!” Beyond her role as a Brannan Center Ambassador, Rose can be counted on as one of Calistoga’s most active volunteers. She is currently involved with Celebrate Napa Valley, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Alumni Association of the Junior-Senior High School, and the Sharpsteen Museum, where she serves as a docent. Brannan Center Board Member Edie Engelhard notes, “Rose is the embodiment of what makes Calistoga such a wonderful place to live. She cares about her community, makes a point to be friends with everyone, and can be counted on time and time again.” Rose adds, “I just want to make a difference in our town.” Brannan Center is so grateful to have Rose Beck as part of our Ambassador program. Greetings Friends, Nearly two months into 2025, it's an exciting time at Brannan Center! Construction is progressing rapidly, we're expanding our staff, seeds of ideas for community programs and partnerships are beginning to blossom, and we continue to be on track for a grand opening this Fall! Many of you have been supporters and advocates for years now. While you understand the vision for this community space and performing arts venue, we?know there are many people who have yet to be introduced to the project. To that end, we've created a new video to tell people about Brannan Center and provide a behind-the-scenes look at construction. I hope you enjoy it! Nearly 150 generous donors in the community have contributed more than $11 million to the Brannan Center project, and we have $1.5 million remaining to finish construction and fund initial operations.
