Is your organization prepared for the new reporting deadline for the Corporate Transparency Act? On Monday, February 17, a federal court in Texas issued an order granting the Treasury Department’s motion to stay pending appeal of another case challenging CTA reporting requirements. As a result, those reporting requirements are back in effect. The federal agency responsible for overseeing these requirements, FinCEN, set a new deadline of March 21, 2025. He went on to clerk for federal trial and appellage judges before transitioning to private practice in Washington, DC. Attention Maine businesses: Solicitation letters from a company called C.F.S. are being sent to corporations, LLCs, and other entities, falsely presenting themselves as official notices from the State of Maine for filing 2025 annual reports. These letters charge an inflated fee of $210. The Maine Secretary of State has issued a warning about these scams, which can be read through the link below. Brann & Isaacson will contact clients in the spring to assist with filing your annual reports for the correct $85 fee.
