“I can help any sales team consistently increase revenue. What’s the best way to share that story with my target audience?” This was the thought keeping Kevin Barry up at night. As owner and president of Harbor Sales Management, Kevin knew he had a great service for business owners who want to increase revenue, hire a sales team, and use a repeatable sales process. But he had to tell the story in a way that made it clear he was the right fractional sales manager for the job. He needed to craft a story that would appeal to his target audience: Long Island business owners – a skeptical bunch, believe me. (Note: I am one of those Long Island business owners.) Kevin needed to be honest, authentic, and share his three decades of experience as a sales leader. Together with Asaf Bochman of Boch Creative, I crafted a brand story book, visual identity and website giving Kevin an unfair competitive advantage through differentiation. We detailed his expertise and recognized his audience’s challenges. Now business owners can learn more and quickly set up a meeting to engage directly with Kevin from the new website. “Arthur and his graphics partner Asaf developed a carefully crafted proposition, logo and website that positioned me legitimately as a ‘category of one.’ That’s the field I want to play on!” See how Kevin can improve your sales process at Harbor Sales Management at HarborSalesMgt-dot-com By the way... This is exactly why we created The Brand Building Bootcamp! The Brand Building Bootcamp combines decades of expert brand strategy, storytelling, visual design and video thought leadership into a set of three packages, so businesses can become a “Category of One” instead of another competitor in a sea of same old brands. Here’s what you get: - Expert brand strategy – taking you from who? to whoa! - Engaging storytelling – engaging your audience from the first sentence. - Bespoke visual design – giving you the logo, website, and videos you need Oh, and we do all of this in about 30 days. Check out The Brand Building Bootcamp and let us know if you'd like to Reserve Your Spot! Visit TheBrandBuildingBootcamp-dot-com

Does this sound like you? You're a business owner, entrepreneur or company founder who has experienced a change in your business and you want to better reflect that change in your brand messages. For example, your business may have: 1. Launched (or is launching) a new product or service 2. Acquired (or been acquired by) another business 3. Brought on new employees to lead new practice areas and disciplines 4. Expanding geographically, into new industries or in size, scope or scale I work with businesses like yours to develop your unique and differentiated perspective and establish, strengthen and promote your strong brand story. I use a simple three-step process to do this so you can be quickly up and running. My work can be with any industry (although I have a lot of experience in professional services, technology, media, manufacturing and clean energy businesses). “How can I show my not-for-profit clients that I offer a lot more value than just basic graphic design?” This was the thought driving Asaf Bochman crazy while he was in his kitchen cooking up inventive meals for his family and friends. (He’s kind of a foodie.) He launched Boch Creative to serve not-for-profits looking for a tastier way to dish up their brands. He wanted to show off his purpose-driven brand strategies and amazingly spicy graphics. Asaf had the recipe, but his website just didn’t taste right - it was a little bland. He needed to share more of his passion - and humor - to let prospective clients know they had the right guy behind the counter. During a Brand Audit, I shared my Brand Success Factors diagram to show Asaf that his brand just needed a little more seasoning. We used his passion for the kitchen to whip up a spicy new brand that shared his style and creativity with a little fun! “Arthur really got me thinking about how to show who I am behind the screen. Now I call myself: Asaf ‘The Brand Chef’ Bochman!” See how Asaf can add a little spice to your bland not-for-profit brand. Visit him at BochCreative-dot-com By the way... This is exactly how I help founders and owners at services businesses with my Brand Audit! The Brand Audit provides you with a roadmap for what comes next when refreshing, rebuilding and relaunching your B2B services brand. Here’s what you get: - Brand Success Factors - Competitive Brand Story - Branded Collateral Assessment - Story Ideas & Lead Magnet Story - Next 5 Steps (for action) All done in one week so you can get your brand moving! Ever wonder why you're struggling to connect with your copy? I've got some thoughts. Hint: Me, me, me, me. === Many brands struggle to overcome the instinct to talk about themselves. That is a challenge for five reasons. 01 - Your copy feels self-congratulatory. You like you, and that’s ok. But if all your blog posts, news releases and LinkedIn shares begin to sound like you’re a character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s time to take a step back from the Koolaid Kooler. 02 - There is no “I” in team, but there’s a lot of “us, we, I and me” in your copy. You want to talk about your accomplishments. You want to claim your accolades. You wonder why no one outside your organization is liking your posts? Think about it. 03 - Your copy sounds like you walked your industry tradeshow floor with a recorder. That list of meaningless adjectives may impress your high school English teacher (sorry high school English teachers) but not your prospects. Look for these fun terms in your copy: Scalable, robust, unique, powerful. Check, check, check, check? 04 - Customers don’t see themselves in your copy. Your customers work with you for a reason. They see themselves benefitting from the relationship. If your articles, posts, podcasts and videos don’t share that relationship, why bother posting them? 05 - You forgot that you’re not in the soliloquy business. Hamlet got away with talking to himself. You’re business isn’t so lucky. You need to connect with your audience. You want to let them know you’re on their side. You want them on your side. Otherwise, you’re just talking to an old skull and hoping for the best. What Should You Do? Focus on “you” and “me” in your copywriting. Your content should connect, not repel. Connection comes from building real relationships based on providing value and benefits that are meaningful to your customers. Make your copy focus on the outside, not the inside. ==== Want more?
