We can’t let National Career Development Month end without telling you about Brandon Poindexter, a Project Manager on our team who epitomizes the term “career development.” Brandon joined Branco in 2016 as a Project Engineer, coming to us from an Oklahoma-based construction company. After being promoted to Project Manager in October of 2017, he became one of only 12 people in the entire state of Missouri to obtain his Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential from the Contract Management Association of America. Brandon is also involved in our Real World Classroom initiative, which is offered to school districts in which we have active building projects. The program requires coordination with school administration and the respective project’s superintendent to find safe, creative and educational ways to involve students in the building process. And, in case that wasn’t impressive enough, he previously served as the board president of the Diamond City Council! Brandon is always seeking out opportunities to learn and grow, remaining an incredible asset to our team while also helping his community thrive. Branco Enterprises is proud to have partnered with the City of Springfield, Missouri, Ozark Empire Fairgrounds & Event Center, and Olsson on the $1.7 million Fairgrounds Green Infrastructure Project. This innovative initiative enhances water quality treatment in Zone 1, addressing stormwater drainage for the fairgrounds and nearby residential areas that previously lacked effective solutions. The project includes sustainable features such as rain gardens with native plants, pervious pavers, and a hydrodynamic separator—helping to protect and improve our community’s natural resources. National STEM/STEAM Day is celebrated annually on November 8th to encourage younger generations to learn more about future science, technology, engineering, arts and math careers. Even though it was yesterday, we celebrate these fields all year long! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in these fields is expected to grow at twice the rate of overall employment through 2031. While we are always honored to be a trusted partner of the Neosho School District, we were especially excited to be alongside them on the forefront of innovation with the creation of RISE Academy. Can anything top the excitement of breaking ground on a new project? Maybe only the day we get to share it with the community! The Branco team has officially started building the Hatch Auditorium following the groundbreaking ceremony that took place just over a month ago. Once complete, this flexible, 500-seat auditorium will be an asset for the Springfield-Greene County Library District, allowing them to host everything from lectures to performances. Branco has been named construction manager at risk with Sapp Design Architects as designers of the auditorium.
