关于我们
We are a building consultancy dedicated to creating Better Built Environments? through our many interwoven specialisms. Our beliefs are rooted in nature which has taught us that true sustainability sits at the intersection of human experience and environmental stewardship. Creating truly high-performing buildings is complex, but we believe that it shouldn’t feel that way for our clients. By working to tackle the complexity ourselves, we make it easier for our clients to achieve their goals. Our practices are led, and supported, from start to finish by our team of progressive experts in the fields of engineering, architecture, social science, testing and analytics. We remain committed to our roots in sustainability and are excited to shift the focus to people with our unique Human-Centered Design approach. Everything we do and why we do it is guided by our longstanding purpose of Improving Life through Better Built Environments. Our name is inspired by the natural environment that lives all around us. Branch patterns are the building blocks of natural systems. Humanity is innately drawn to these elegant and efficient fractals. This deep connection is represented throughout mankind’s history of science, art, engineering and architecture. Upon closer look, the buildings and infrastructure we help create are full of branch patterns.

#humanhealth and #embodiedcarbon are two of the bigggest topics in the green building industry right now. I’m excited to hear from Julia Wattick from BranchPattern, and Lilly Freedman, PMP and Nazin Bagherynejad from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh at this morning’s Green Building Alliance online event about the nexus of these topics, and how we can implement adaptive reuse while also prioritizing health.

As this year's Greenbuild International Conference & Expo wraps up, we’re reflecting on an incredible week of learning and collaboration. ?? On our last day, we dug deep into MEP 2040 and the critical role of embodied carbon in building systems. The wicked smart Kristy M. Walson, PE, LEED Fellow, BEMP, Kayleigh Houde, Shannon Sajdak, and Kjell Anderson, FAIA, LEED Fellow shared their expertise on how MEP systems, though often overlooked, are pivotal in achieving net-zero carbon goals. This week has been nothing short of inspiring, and we’re leaving with fresh ideas, new partnerships, and a renewed commitment to shaping a sustainable future. Excited to put all that we've learned into action—until next time, Greenbuild! #Greenbuild2024 #MEP2040 #EmbodiedCarbon #SustainableBuilding #NetZero #BranchPatternSpeaks #ImprovingLife #BetterBuiltEnvironments #BeTheMovement

Day 3 at Greenbuild International Conference & Expo was filled with connection and collaboration! ?? From impactful sessions on sustainable design strategies to dynamic conversations with industry leaders, it was a day of building relationships that will drive positive change. One of the highlights today was the Women in Green Luncheon—a powerful gathering of women leaders who are shaping the future of sustainability. It was inspiring to hear from so many trailblazers (both on stage and at the lunch tables) who are paving the way for the next generation of green building professionals. The energy here has been incredible, and we left Day 3 excited to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through collaboration. #Greenbuild2024 #WomenInGreen #Sustainability #Collaboration #Networking #Leadership #GreenBuilding

Another inspiring day at Greenbuild International Conference & Expo 2024! ?? We started Day 2 with coffee alongside our green building partners, setting the stage for a powerful keynote by the remarkable Don Cheadle. Sarah Gudeman led an insightful panel discussion with real estate and development leaders Ethan Gilbert, LEED AP, Matt Praske, and Andy Zou, MEM. Together, they delved into the crucial role of real estate in driving decarbonization across industries, highlighting actionable steps each is taking toward a low-carbon future. Beyond Sarah’s session, the day was packed with thought-provoking presentations, exciting new technologies, and plenty of opportunities to connect with sustainability innovators. Looking forward to even more collaboration and inspiration on Day 3! #Greenbuild2024 #Decarbonization #RealEstate #SustainableDevelopment #GreenBuilding #BeTheMovement #ImprovingLife #BetterBuiltEnvironments

Truly, the project that keeps on giving. Another prestigious award for Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center! ?? Such an incredible honor. Congratulations to the City of Colorado Springs, GWWO Architects, RTA Architects, and team! #PikesPeak #AmericasMountain #NetZeroEnergy #NetZeroWater #Sustainability #AwardWinning
We are thrilled to announce the Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center received the 2024 American Architecture Award from the The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design. This award is the nation’s highest and most prestigious distinguished building awards program that honors new and cutting-edge design in the United States.? The careful placement and sensitive design of this new visitor center at 14,115 feet, the highest facility of its type in the world, places the focus on the stunning landscape, allowing boundless sky and views to take center stage. Embedded into the mountainside, the low-rise structure is seemingly carved from the southeast side of the peak. Its form and materials, with stone inspired by Pikes Peak granite, evoke the crags and rock formations found above the trees. From below, the building appears as a building of the mountain rather than one on the mountain, yet as visitors arrive at the summit it emerges as a clear destination. Congratulations to the City of Colorado Springs, RTA Architects (Architect of Record) and all of our partners and collaborators, including BranchPattern, DHM Design, G&A, and GE Johnson for this accomplishment!
