A year ago today, my world came to a screeching halt when I received a phone call that changed my life forever. My dad had randomly died of a heart attack at work. There were no warning signs, and we were supposed to have worked on preparing for my interview for my current internship just later that afternoon. Although we didn’t get that opportunity together, my dad was with me during the entire interviewing process. Moments before my interview, I logged onto LinkedIn and noticed an unread message from my dad about perspective. It was exactly what I needed at that moment. And the signs haven’t stopped coming my way ever since.? ?My dad was an incredibly hard-working man but somehow always maintained the balance of living life to its fullest. It’s something I’ve always admired about him. Although this year hasn’t been easy for me, as I reflect on my grief journey, as well as graduating college and entering the work world, I can proudly say that I have found ways to channel the skills that he has instilled in me from a very young age. My dad always joked with us how his favorite and only social media platform was LinkedIn and that you’d probably get a faster response from him over email than text. That said, to honor my father, I’d like to craft my own post on his favorite social media platform with just a few of the tips I use every day at work to channel him.?
