Thanks to those who sent the new Nature Medicine (https://lnkd.in/gm2wHxpg) study that reveals dementia cases are set to double in the US. It’s alarming and sad news. I am three months into my journey as CEO of BrainCheck and about the same number of months into knowing that a loved one has Alzheimer’s. While the outlook for dementia cases is bleak, positive change is already possible. Just like any other condition, it starts with knowing, then steps can be taken to slow or even prevent the condition. I am blown away by the amazing team at BrainCheck who have conducted over 400,000 cognitive screens. We are now translating the software into Dutch, French, German, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Mandarin and will start assessments in Europe this year in partnership with PREDICTOM - IHI project - a pan European collaboration study. A new report from the Milken Institute Alliance to Improve Dementia Care presents the latest insights, innovations, and scalable solutions to enhance early detection of mild cognitive impairment and dementia across healthcare and community settings. Developed with input from Alliance members, expert interviews, a multisector roundtable, and extensive research, the report outlines five recommendations centered around two themes: (1) improving primary care capacity and workflows and (2) expanding detection efforts beyond primary care.? ?
