BrainCheck founder David Eagleman was recently featured in an article on Health.com discussing new research from The Lancet that found up to 45% of dementia cases may be preventable by addressing 14 modifiable risk factors, including high cholesterol and vision loss. Eagleman encouraged readers to ask physicians to check for risk factors of LDL cholesterol, vision loss, and dementia at annual wellness visits, even if there are no immediate concerns. He also mentioned readers can ask also their doctors for a cognitive assessment at these visits, regardless of age or dementia risk. As Eagleman stated: “Clinicians can catch subtle signs of impairment, potentially years before symptoms become obvious. It’s in these early stages that lifestyle adjustments—like increased physical activity, mental stimulation, and social engagement—have the most significant impact on preserving brain health.” Read the full article here: https://hubs.ly/Q02RQV4L0 #BrainHealth #CognitiveHealth #DementiaPrevention #EarlyDetection #BrainCheck
