The Brain Injury Association of Georgia (BIAG) is a non-profit organization serving individuals with brain injury and their families, friends and service providers. Founded in 1982, we strive to improve the quality of life for people with brain injury and their family and friends. We serve Traumatic Brain Injury (ie: fall, car accident, sports concussion) or Acquired Brain Injury (ie: stroke, aneurysm, tumor)
Our Core Programs:
>Resource Facilitation (RF) is a free, two-yr person centered support program providing education and connection to supports and services to assist individuals with a TBI navigate life after brain injury. They are followed over 2 yrs to assist and identify resources helping to transition back to family, jobs and the community while achieving the greatest level of independence as possible. Currently offered in Metro Atlanta.
>Information and Resources offered for individuals and families impacted by a brain injury:
..On-going support services whether 1 to 20+ years post injury
..EDUCATION, GUIDANCE, MATERIALS offered on brain injury, challenges, strategies
..COMMUNITY resources and SUPPORT services
..Refers you to a variety of RESOURCES such as health care professionals, day programs, financial to housing or peer support.

>CAMP BIAG, adult (18+) camp, with a Caregiver Respite camp for their loved one; therapeutic recreational activities; socialization and life skill development.

>ADVOCACY for safety laws, services, and needed public policy changes (Leader in Safe Return to Play Act)
