Today, in addition to auditing audience claims, through its BPA iCompli division, the organization verifies compliance to defined government, industry, and organizational standards as well as adherence to privacy, data protection and sustainability guidelines and best practices. Performing nearly 2,600 audits in over 20 countries, BPA is a trusted resource for compliance and assurance services. The latest innovation to move the industry forward is the BPA Media Exchange, an online private marketplace for automated sales of independently verified media and related digital marketing products. Founded in 1931 by a group of advertisers, publishers and agencies, BPA Worldwide is an independent, not-for-profit, self-regulating organization governed by a tripartite Board of Directors. The Board of Directors, which sets auditing rules and organizational policies and oversees operations, is comprised of 12 advertiser and advertising agency representatives and 11 publication representatives. BPA's bylaws require that its Chairman, elected each May, is an executive from an advertiser or advertising agency member company. Headquartered in Shelton, Connecticut, USA, BPA has the largest membership of any media-auditing organization in the world.
