The Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley would like to express our heartfelt support for SLV PRIDE and our LGBTQ+ community as they deal with the recent theft of their street-side flags during PRIDEFest. This crime is endemic to the challenges faced by their community almost daily, and we believe that every member of our valley community should both speak out and step up in our efforts to ensure that everyone is safe and welcome in their homes and in our shared public spaces. It falls on us to practice understanding, empathy, respect, and to do our part to create stronger, safer, and more diverse communities all across our valley home. We are the leaders of our communities. We are the role models for our kids and teens.
