Last week, we had the honor of leading a 3-day Trauma-Informed training experience for 11 Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the Midwest. This training offered Clubs opportunities to expand their knowledge, hone their skills, and work to integrate trauma-informed practice into every area of their organization. Trauma-Informed practice acknowledges the far-reaching effects of trauma and its signs, actively working to prevent re-traumatization while honoring and supporting others' experiences. This empathetic, human-centered approach shapes our organizational culture, guiding us to approach every interaction with compassion and intention. We know each encounter has the power to heal and that the right environment can make a profound difference in ensuring everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and empowered. We're proud of each organization's commitment to trauma-informed practices and its plans to continue cascading this work forward. Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland, Boys & Girls Clubs of Parkersburg, Boys & Girls Club of Central Appalachia, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley, Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids, Boys & Girls Club of Dayton, Ohio, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana, Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Inc.
