This week Club CEO Stephanie James and Philanthropy & Communications Officer Erica Ceballos represented Boys & Girls Clubs of South County at National Days of Advocacy in Washington D.C. They met with Congressman Juan Vargas and joined other California Club Leaders at the offices of our Senators to champion the issues that matter most—academic success, workforce readiness, and youth well-being. We remain committed to advocating for policies that empower young people to excel in school, build essential life skills, and explore career opportunities. At Boys & Girls Clubs of South County, we’re celebrating Black History Month! ?????? Club Kids are learning about the contributions and innovations of Black people and communities throughout history. When young people learn about Black icons and leaders, they’re inspired to dream big! This February, join us as we honor Black history and champion the rights, opportunities and dreams of today’s youth and generations to come.

Huge thanks to our amazing partners at Panda Restaurant Group for celebrating the Lunar New Year with us! ???? Our Club Members had a blast learning about the traditions of the holiday through art, stories, and delicious food. We’re so grateful to Panda for supporting our Clubs and creating wonderful opportunities for our Club Kids to explore new cultures and traditions.?

This Lunar New Year, our Club Kids are crafting beautiful lanterns, a symbol of hope, light, and new beginnings. ?????? Learning about cultural traditions like these helps our Club Members appreciate diversity, celebrate new chapters, and honor the rich histories that shape our world. #LunarNewYear
