One of the ways BRC tries to make our facilities feel more like a home for our clients is through artwork like this beautiful mural painted by Meaghan Elyse at our Wanda Patterson Women’s Residence in Far Rockaway. Meaghan volunteered her time to take a blank, white wall and turn it into something magnificent. Thank you so much for your hard work, Meaghan! The Way Home for New Yorkers Experiencing Homelessness
关于我们
BRC is one of New York City's largest providers of housing and services for individuals experiencing homelessness. Founded in 1971 by a group of recovering alcoholics living in poverty in the Bowery’s infamous flophouses, these individuals had hope, and a firm belief that better days lay ahead. BRC serves nearly 13,000 individuals each year, operating more than 30 programs throughout the greater metropolitan area. The organization’s robust continuum of housing and services includes over 3,700 units of transitional and permanent housing; outreach and case management programs; and substance use and medical services. Together, these programs offer a caring and effective path from homelessness to home, providing comprehensive services that guide everyone on their unique journey.

Last week we celebrated Lunar New Year at BRC’s Older Adult Center with an afternoon of food, games, and connection. It was wonderful to commemorate this holiday of tradition, prosperity, and family, especially at a time when so many in the senior community face housing and health challenges. A big thank you to Councilmember Christopher Marte for joining in the festivities. #BRC #HopeHealthHome #Community

At BRC, our work begins with a conversation - a simple, yet powerful moment when an individual experiencing homelessness, whether on the streets or in the transit system, is offered a hand up. Our compassionate team listens, acts, and provides the support needed to help those in need take steps toward rebuilding their lives. Every day, 365/24/7, we’re here. This year, BRC helped 12,451 individuals take steps towards establishing health and stability through our treatment and housing programs. Dawn, dusk, midday, or midnight—BRC’s doors are always open ready to welcome those suffering from the ravages of poverty and homelessness. Will you join us? Donate now through Giving Tuesday, December 3 and your donation will be matched dollar for dollar. Please donate today: www.brc.org/donate #BRC #BRCImpact #HopeHealthHome #GivingTuesday #JoinUs
