I saw a great article by robotics expert Aaron Prather yesterday about modularity, and how important it is for robots to be able to serve more than one use case. Most of the robots in solar that I’ve seen are purpose built to solve one problem. But one of the best examples I’ve found of a product in this space that appears built with modularity in mind is BotCrew’s Gravion. There are over 20 different attachments that can be used with the Gravion rover. Pallet forks, front loaders, grapples and mowers are just a few of the tools at the operator’s disposal. If you think about the many tasks that can benefit from automation on a utility-scale solar job site, Gravion’s modular approach checks a lot of boxes.
