关于我们
The Boston Women’s Fund (BWF) was the first women’s foundation in Massachusetts and is one of the oldest nonprofit women’s foundations in the United States. Launched by activist women at a community meeting 40 years ago, BWF is a leader in supporting community-based grassroots organizations and initiatives led by women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals working to advance racial, economic, social, and gender justice in Greater Boston and beyond. BWF is a role model in participatory and trust-based philanthropy, guided by the principle that those closest to the challenges impacting themselves and their communities have the insight and knowledge to design and achieve the solutions. We believe that change begins with women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals in their own communities and that, with the necessary resources, they can implement their ideas. Investing in women, girls, and gender-expansive folks is an investment in their families, their communities, and a brighter future for us all.

Now more than ever, it is crucial to educate ourselves. Black history is American history. The history of Black communities in this country and across the world is one of resilience, triumph, and sacred resistance against systems that fail to honor the humanity of all people. Our work is rooted in the Black grassroots resistance tradition. We encourage you to actively center Black voices — especially Black women and gender-expansive people — in your activism ????????? #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM #BWF #DisruptPhilanthropy #BostonPhilanthropy
