Another very special and inspiring day at the 9th Annual Dream Big! Leadership Conference at UMASS Boston on Wednesday. Over 200 middle and high school female student athletes and their coaches, from 15 Greater Boston, Brockton, and Lawrence, schools and community based sports programs, attended the conference and heard from 9 inspirational business women/athletes about the sports they played, the colleges they chose, the career paths they chose, and the barriers they faced and overcame, in getting to where they are today. The presenters answered many great questions from the student athletes while also giving them advice on how to follow their dreams and not to let anything get in their way. In addition to the fabulous presentations, every student athlete in attendance got to leave the conference with a new piece of sports attire, athletic footwear, or sports equipment thanks to many of our donors and sponsors. Spring is here and we were out and about in the community last week. Our team had the opportunity to speak at the Girls and Women in Sports Clinic at Gillette Stadium, attend Calling the Shots: Advancing Women in Sports Leadership, a Globe Event sponsored by Cross Insurance, and meet with Boston Scores at their HQ in East Boston and spot their field complex, coming this Summer ?? A few weeks ago Soccer Unity Project hosted the 2024 Boston Youth Soccer Summit at Northeastern University where our very own Jennifer Epstein shared her perspective on collective impact and accessibility in soccer alongside Brian Bilello and Robert Holliday. After, our team had the chance to participate in breakout sessions to discuss how we can continue to build a more inclusive and equitable community.
