Boston MedFlight (BMF) is a nonprofit, CAMTS accredited, Critical Care Transport service. Boston MedFlight commits to excellence in critical care transport by providing the highest quality regional critical care transport system. For more than 35 years, Boston MedFlight has played an integral role as part of the Massachusetts EMS system and the community hospitals of New England. Boston MedFight transports emergent patients regardless of their ability to pay. We receive no state or federal funding and as a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization we must rely on third party reimbursement, support from our consortium hospitals, and our fundraising efforts to cover the substantial costs associated with delivering our services. Our consortium hospitals include: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital,Tufts Medical Center and Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.

    The 2024 Dr. James Dargin Memorial Critical Care Conference Conference speaker spotlight: Dr. Jarone Lee Topic: Telemedicine in Humanitarian Aid Dr. Jarone Lee, MD, MPH is a dual-trained, practicing emergency medicine and critical care physician, and is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lee is the Director of Critical Care for the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Lee also serves as Chief Medical Officer to the Massachussetts-1, Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT), a federal team that deploys to support disaster relief. He is regularly invited to speak nationally and internationally. Previous speaking engagements included the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, South by Southwest, a keynote presentation at the All Levels Trauma Care conference in Saudi Arabia, and a White House round table on equity and civic health.     The 2024 Dr. James Dargin Memorial Critical Care Conference Conference speaker spotlight: Dr. Chaitan Narsule Topic: A Visual Tour of Chest Trauma and Management Dr Chaitan Narsule attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his residency at Brown University and a fellowship in surgical critical care at Boston University Medical Center. He is a general surgeon at BI Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. He is Board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Dr Narsule’s publications include topics such as endoscopic fundoplication for controlling GI reflux disease; percutaneous thermal ablation on non-small cell lung cancer; and effects of delay presentation on rate of perforation in children with appendicitis.     The 2024 Dr. James Dargin Memorial Critical Care Conference Conference speaker spotlight: Dr. Susan Wilcox Topic: Cardiac Case Reviews focusing on dysrhythmias and cardioversion Dr. Susan Wilcox attended medical school at Washington University School of Medicine and trained in Emergency Medicine in the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency, graduating in 2008. After residency, she completed an Anesthesia Critical Care fellowship at MGH. Her accomplishments include serving as the medical director for the inpatient code team and the ground critical care transport service for the Medical University of South Carolina ( 2015), inaugural Chief of the Division of Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine MGH (2017) and Associate Chief Medical Officer of Boston MedFlight (2018). She holds Board Certifications in Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine. She currently a SICU attending at BI Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.     We are proud of our colleagues, Jamie Eastman and Jennifer Powers who accepted the Phil Murray Organization of the Year Award, from Nantucket Cottage Hospital, on behalf of Boston MedFlight. Their efforts were acknowledged for developing and providing a collaborative training opportunity to benefit the air transport needs of critically ill patients from Nantucket.     The 2024 Dr. James Dargin Memorial Critical Care Conference Conference speaker spotlight: Dr. Anthony Gray Topic: Massive Hemoptysis: Diagnosis and Management Dr. Anthony Gray is currently Vice Chair, Critical Care Medicine at BI Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. His specialties include pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is a current Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is a graduate of Boston College with majors in Biology and Math. Dr. Gray attended University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Internal Medicine training at the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester MA, Pulmonary disease fellowship Lahey Clinic and Critical Care fellowship at St. Vincent/University of Massachusetts. He has been a staff physician in the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Lahey since 1991 and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.
