Last week, the BHCHP Emerging Leaders Board kicked off the new year with a special event featuring Dr. Jim O’Connell, our President and Founding Physician, who shared several poignant stories recounting his journey into homeless medicine and key lessons learned over 40 years of doing this work. A thought provoking discussion followed after the main talk. Val Bertolami, co-chair of the ELB reflected, "I feel so lucky that we had a chance to hear from Dr. O'Connell in a conversational setting. Hearing his stories from the start of BHCHP through today made me more inspired than ever to be involved and support this organization." Our heartfelt thanks to Biogen for hosting this gathering at their Cambridge space! If you want to stay involved with the Emerging Leaders, check out the website. https://bit.ly/3v7KTg4

And recently, they began offering crowns and digital dentures as well to our patients! This Valentine’s Day, we share this heartwarming photo of two patients who recently got engaged in the Atrium of our Barbara McInnis House respite facility. Many congratulations to the duo and we were honored to stand witness to this sweet moment. Like everyone else, the community we serve is full of love to give and share with others. We experience this every single day across our 30+ program sites and we feel blessed to stand together with our patients through their victories and challenges. To all of you who share your time, resources and talents with the BHCHP family, thank you so much for your continued partnership!

We had an amazing Winter Walk this year! Our sincere thanks to everyone who braved the snow and showed up to support our collective efforts to end homelessness in Boston. Your ongoing care and dedication to our patients’ wellbeing means the world! On top of raising critically needed funds for BHCHP, this annual event brings more public awareness to the reality of homelessness, particularly the lives of rough sleepers who spend most of their time outside braving the elements. Although the event is over, you can still contribute to our fundraising efforts by visiting this website. Thank you!! https://bit.ly/3X141ro
