Bingo is very much cherished by our patients and provides a great entryway to learn more about our four-decades long work caring for people experiencing homelessness in Boston. Happy Employee Appreciation Day!! We want to thank our staff for their dedication to serving our unique patient population and doing it with a lot of compassion, joy, creativity and perseverance. BHCHP is a tight community of over 600 clinical and support staff, and we feel honored and grateful to be doing what we do, every single day. We’re giving a special shoutout to our dental team today as they celebrate Dentist’s Day and Dental Assistants Recognition Week! They provide top-notch primary care dentistry with services such as comprehensive and urgent exams, cleanings, cavity restorations, complete and partial dentures. And recently, they began offering crowns and digital dentures as well to our patients! Our sincere thanks to the dental team for being a trusted and quality provider to our patients – and much appreciation to our donors who make this work possible!

The Marathon countdown is ON!! Two months from now, Team BHCHP will participate in the historic 129th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America, and we’ll be there to cheer them on as they accomplish this amazing feat on behalf of our program. This Valentine’s Day, we share this heartwarming photo of two patients who recently got engaged in the Atrium of our Barbara McInnis House respite facility. Many congratulations to the duo and we were honored to stand witness to this sweet moment. Like everyone else, the community we serve is full of love to give and share with others. We experience this every single day across our 30+ program sites and we feel blessed to stand together with our patients through their victories and challenges. We had an amazing Winter Walk this year! Our sincere thanks to everyone who braved the snow and showed up to support our collective efforts to end homelessness in Boston. Your ongoing care and dedication to our patients’ wellbeing means the world! On top of raising critically needed funds for BHCHP, this annual event brings more public awareness to the reality of homelessness, particularly the lives of rough sleepers who spend most of their time outside braving the elements. Attention!! Are you a young person interested in gaining real-life work experience in the public health and homeless medicine field? The application to join our 2025-26 AmeriCorps cohort is now live on the website. Check out the eligibility criteria and if you match, we hope to read your application soon! Although many of our AmeriCorps fellows go on to pursue higher education in the medical, nursing and public health fields, you do not need to be pre-med to serve with us. We have positions to fill that are located across our 30+ sites and this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on skills in case management, health education and leadership.
