BGS personnel recently completed a generative Artificial Intelligence pilot with a DOE Complex Partner to explore the use of Gen AI in the creation of training content. Three subject areas related to industrial safety were identified as candidates for the pilot, with the goal of reducing the turnaround time for producing a viable video that could be used for production training. For the pilot, three simple English language prompts were developed and issued to a generative AI tool. These prompts described what the video was about and how long the video should be. The tool then developed the script and generated narration and video content. A second round of edits was completed by giving simple, conversational instructions to the tool and produced a 90% viable product for the training group. The end result of this pilot was an order of magnitude improvement in efficiency from 6 weeks to generate a usable product to approximately 2 days. Thanks to the BGS team, our client is now moving full steam ahead with the production use of Generative AI for training video creation. #BGS #AI
