Here is your women-owned bar! Thank you Mara Smith from Inspiro Tequila for assembling this list — she acknowledges it is not exhaustive, but we can confirm all brands are actually owned and controlled by women. Feel free to SHARE THIS widely. Women make up 40% of bourbon drinkers and we make 85% of all purchasing decisions. We are an important consumer who should be represented on shelves but are often outspent on marketing by establishment, male-dominated brands. Ultimately, you can make the choice to shake up the status quo, by deciding which brands you’re going to support. Men, if you have a wife, girlfriend, sister, daughter, aunt, niece or mother, SHARE THIS. Make sure woman-owned businesses — in traditionally male-dominated industrys— are supported and on the radar, so girls grow up not only hearing about equality but seeing it on the shelves. Please help amplify! 关于我们
Boss Molly is a bold, small batch, wheated bourbon with an adventurous spirit. Aged 4 years in American Oak, perfected with toasted brandy staves to bring out upfront notes of butterscotch, citrus & vanilla, with hints of leather and spiced brandy on the finish. Our bourbon has a wonderful complexity of flavor and character with an abundance of detectable flavor notes to delight and wow your senses. Once you taste it, it’s hard to go back to drinking anything else. We named the brand Boss Molly after an old ranching term for the stubborn female mules that lead the pack (and did it their way!), something we all resonate with. We’re also one of the first to have a woman featured on the label that is meant to honor the women of bourbon’s past, present, and future.

Check out our co-founder Brandi Bowles talking all things Kentucky, rock-and-roll, and brandy staves on industry expert John Coyle's "Drinking on the Job" podcast. They get deep in the weeds on what it's like to start a company from scratch, the importance of early success and validation, and the rollercoaster of whiskey finishing. And yes, John, just for you, we'll consider doing a Sherry barrel! ?? https://lnkd.in/eB3T6fbQ

So fun to revisit this excellent episode of Smart Rookie. People say “if I knew then what I know now…”. But the truth is NOT KNOWING is often the best path to innovation. While there are some basic questions that go into starting a spirits business, we were asking some that others had never thought of, such as, why can’t we put a woman on the label…and why can’t we do a 360° toast on a stave? Balancing between the whiskey tradition and out of the box creativity will always be a hallmark for our brand. Thanks again, Nucleus and Smart Rookie, for letting us share our story.
Smart Rookies see a problem and get to work on fixing it—even when it means facing a steep learning curve. Boss Molly Bourbon's journey is a testament to the power of curiosity and the courage to embrace the unknown. Victoria Horn and her co-founders Brandi Bowles and Kate Rosante saw a gap in the market: all bourbon was being created for men, with no representation for women like them. Instead of accepting it, they leveraged their unique backgrounds, asked fresh questions, and created something truly unique (and not to mention, delicious!). At The Nucleus Group, we believe that being a Smart Rookie is a superpower. It’s about seeing the world through wonder, identifying gaps, and daring to fill them. Join us in celebrating the journey of continuous learning and the fearless pursuit of new challenges. Let’s say — hypothetically — you’re a wheated, barrel-finished bourbon and a major industry report reveals your category is expected lead $5 billion worth of market growth by 2031…how many “I told ya!” emails is one allowed to send? ?? “The Bourbon market was found to be worth $7.8 billion in 2021, and is estimated to rise by to $12.8bn by 2031, after increasing by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5%….. “While the wheated Bourbon spirits segment was found to dominate the market in 2021, accounting for more than a third of its share, it is also expected to front the marketing during the forecast period of 2022-2031…. “The barrel-finished segment is expected to witness the fastest CAGR growth of 6.1% during the period.” https://lnkd.in/evP2Av8v

Supporting female led business is madness We’re talking about March madness, of course. It’s beyond delightful to see the meteoric rise of women’s basketball, especially phenom Caitlin Clark consume our attention. Her superstar status has been built on bold, risky shots… we can think of no better metaphor for female-led businesses. We’re all out here taking big ambitious three pointers, and every win helps us build the foundations for funding, pitching and selling (But we will also take the free throws and lay-ups)! It requires an extraordinary amount of passion and study. But man, it’s a beautiful thing when it works. We can’t stop sharing this video of an amazing 11 year old girl, who makes a buzzer beating half court shot to win the game. It’s pure joy to watch: https://lnkd.in/efzRUiGi Eager to see an era where supporting women-owned businesses commands as much attention as the women’s basketball conference, with mad respect to the half-court shots. We’ll keep playing an extraordinary game in the meantime. And rooting for the amazing athletes who are finally getting their time in the sun, this WHMonth! Let’s go!!!!!

In our second episode of Smart Rookie we talk to Kate, Victoria, and Brandi at Boss Molly Bourbon. These three women, bonded by their love of bourbon, set off to make their own, and Boss Molly was born. Today, Boss Molly is available on shelves in multiple states. How did Kate, Victoria, and Brandi go from the worlds of publishing and marketing to the wild world of whiskey? What are the most exciting parts of starting something from scratch? We talk cookies, barrels, curse words, and diving into the unknown. Listen on Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe! https://lnkd.in/d_Kn8SFz

? Tangible Tech ? Had a conversation with an investor recently about high vs. low tech, he automatically grouped “Spirits,” into the latter category. I asked if he’s ever visited a distillery…and proposed that we weren’t either low or high. We are tech made tangible. Certainly if you look at modern distilling, which pairs humanity’s oldest technology with sophisticated software to control heat and evaporation, and monitor the liquid’s chemical makeup, and the supply chain, and the distribution system, it’s obvious how technology has transformed the industry. But then, while there are new tech aging solutions out there, nothing beats taking the time to age whiskey in a wood barrel the old-fashioned way. There is no substitution for fermentation, where yeast digest grain sugars to produce alcohol, which is further refined through natural processes. That part is still alchemical. Holding a glass of bourbon in your hands is a combination of nature, craft, and human efficiency; it is a marvel! We are proud to make a product you can delight, warm, and cheer you. That you can bring into your home and share with others. But it is through technology that we are able to share it with you today. How? Why just go to www.bossmolly.com. It’s as simple as clicking a button. ??
