关于我们

–?HOSPITALITY SERVICES – Border Servant Corps (BSC) provides hospitality for migrants released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. We operate the two largest 24/7 migrant shelters in southern New Mexico and west Texas. At the Hospitality Centers, individuals and families are welcomed, their basic needs (food, hygiene items, general wellness, etc.) are addressed, and guests receive assistance with travel arrangements and transportation to transit stations to continue their journey to their final destination. Additionally, BSC operates the Port Reception Site for migrants entering the U.S. through the CBP One? app (where USCIS is co-located to assist with a portion of the work authorization process) and an Airport Reception Team to assist migrants from the entire El Paso Sector to navigate the airport on both sides of TSA. Together with our deeply committed community, we ensure newly-arrived migrants are welcomed with dignity and respect. – ENGAGEMENT & EDUCATION – Border Servant Corps also hosts groups interested in an accompaniment-style immersion, where relationships and first-hand educational experiences about border issues are prioritized. In today’s polarized society – surrounding almost every issue – it seems increasingly important to come together, get to know one another, learn about realities, think critically, and proactively engage with renewed understanding. BSC’s border immersion is intentionally designed to provide a comprehensive spectrum of views about immigration and the borderlands by: Speaking with first-generation immigrants; visiting local organizations working with immigrant populations; meeting with government officials to hear about border protection and law enforcement; learning about immigration law; and building an understanding of economic policies and realities affecting people on the border.

Today, our final CBP One? guests departed. During their despedida, the father blessed all who guided, protected, and welcomed them along their journey. He prayed for God to remove the blinders of hate in this world and to one day fill this “house” once again with those seeking safety and refuge. May it be so.

Register to join BSC's Teach-In: On the Ground from the U.S.-Mexico Border with Ali Boyd, Human Rights Attorney, and Benjamin Neville, MBA on Friday, September 13th. Political and legal developments in 2024 have left border shelters particularly exposed. BSC's teach-in series will share about real-time policy and data updates impacting migrants and humanitarian aid organizations at the U.S.-Mexico border.

  • – "CONNECTING THE DOTS" CONVENING – At the end of last week, BSC attended a convening?of the National Dignity for Families Fund in New York City. DFF helped ground us in our collective reality: From the interior cities of Chicago and NYC to the borderlands from San Diego?to Brownsville ... from stories to services ... from operational changes to accurate narrative .... from government officials and funders to advocates and service providers. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn, share, connect and plan as we move forward together to support some of the most vulnerable amongst us – our newly-arrived neighbors.?

    • Welcomed by AfriKana and Artists, Athletes, Activists in NYC.
    • Amazing humans accompanying amazing humans: Adama (Afrikana), Johannes (Illinois Community for Displaced Immigrants), Power (Artists, Athletes, Activists).
    • Stephanie Acosta from our very own El Paso Community Foundation!
    • Andrea Flores of FWD.us on our national state of play.

  • – ADVOCATING FOR ACCESSIBILITY OF ALLOCATED FUNDS – This past week, BSC – along with our partners along the border and interior – visited DC to advocate for accessibility of funds already allocated to support migrant hospitality. Our partners included Jewish Family Service of San Diego (San Diego, CA), Borderlands Resource Initiative (Phoenix, CA), International Rescue Committee (Phoenix, AZ), Mission: Border Hope (Eagle Pass, TX), Good Neighbor Settlement House (Brownsville, TX), and?Illinois Community for Displaced Immigrants?(Chicago, IL). We met with representatives from the offices of Senator Heinrich (NM), Senator Lujan (NM), Senator Warren (MA), Representative Escobar (TX), the?U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs, FEMA, DHS, the White House, and more. We were also invited to visit DC shelter partners who receive migrants settling in the community, and gathered with friends and partners to learn and share about the?state of migrant hospitality in the borderlands and beyond. We look forward to future?collaboration with our partners in the?borderlands, DC, and the interior. Together, we can continue to provide a safe, sustainable, and orderly welcome with dignity for our newly-arrived neighbors. A special shout-out to all who helped make this visit possible: FWD.us, the National Dignity for Families?Fund, the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), the?Friends Committee on National Legislation, Refugees International, Church World Service, ELCA Advocacy, and more!
