Our Red Coats had the opportunity to visit Boone Bank and Trust this this week. Boone Bank & Trust Co. has been a pillar of the Boone County community since its establishment in 1883 under the name Boone County Bank. Today, it stands as the oldest chartered bank in Boone County and one of the few offering trust services. As a local, full-service bank, Boone Bank & Trust Co. proudly serves Boone and the surrounding communities from two convenient locations. The bank is owned by Ames National Corporation, a publicly traded, multi-bank holding company headquartered in Ames, Iowa. They oversee six central Iowa banks, operating in 11 communities with 18 banking offices and a total of 216 employees company wide. Under the leadership of President, CEO, and Trust Officer Jeffrey K. Putzier since 1999, Boone Bank & Trust Co. has maintained its reputation for excellence in banking and community service. As Mr. Putzier prepares to retire at the end of 2025, the bank is excited to announce that current Senior Vice President and the Chamber’s own Red Coat Ambassador, Mike Carr, will step into the role of president on January 1, 2026.
