Where people of all abilities have opportunity to achieve their full potential and find purpose in meaningful employment
关于我们
BCI's mission is to inspire, develop, and support people with disabilities through a continuum of innovative employment opportunities. Our Organizational Employment Program offers paid jobs in a fully supported environment at BCI Packaging with continuous opportunities to advance. Our dedicated team of Employment Support Specialists works to accommodate each individual’s unique needs. Through regular training and assessment, we ensure the highest level of success for every person we serve. We focus on abilities rather than disabilities. We transform a desire to work into something meaningful and fulfilling. Our Competitive Employment and Skills Center vocational training programs empower individuals to work alongside non-disabled individuals while earning the same opportunities, benefits, and pay. We work with individuals to assess their skills and interests and draft plans to get them where they want to be. Once employment is secured, we remain available for follow-up support as needed. Achieving our mission requires successful partnerships. Companies with packaging and light manufacturing needs can support our organizational program by sending jobs to our team. Companies with staffing needs can partner with our competitive program to hire adults with disabilities. If you find that our mission resonates with you, we encourage you to schedule a tour at 636-875-5267.

Heading into a long weekend with a Friday funny... At The Skills Center, we not only help adults with disabilities with their hard & soft skills to better prepare them for jobs in the community, we also help them work on their timing to hone their standup comedy routines! Mark, who is currently in our Health Care & Social Assistance Support class at BJC West County, has a joke he'd like you all to hear. Take it away, Mark! #DisabilityInclusion #VocationalTraining #FridayFunny

It's hard to believe we're in week 5 of our Health Care & Social Support Assistance class, held on-site at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. With one week to go until graduation, we're happy to report that Mark and Taylor are doing great, learning everything it takes to be part of BJC's environmental services team. Innovation. It's one of BCI's core values. When one of our clients, Jimmy, faced challenges in staying organized at his job with the Francis Howell School District, our colleague, Lisa Vergiza stepped in with an innovative approach to help him succeed! Rather than relying on a traditional task list, Lisa introduced a hands-on solution using popsicle sticks. She wrote each task on a stick and created two sections: "To Do" and "Completed." As Jimmy completes each task, he moves the corresponding stick to the "Completed" section. This simple yet effective system not only keeps Jimmy on track but also provides a visual sense of accomplishment as he progresses through his workday. We’re proud of Lisa’s creativity and dedication to helping our clients thrive in their roles! #Innovation #Teamwork #ClientSuccess

Sometimes, growth happens in the most unexpected ways—and that’s precisely what happened last Tuesday when BCI Receptionist Paige stepped into a recording studio for the first time. Paige was asked to narrate the video for our upcoming gala. Though outside her comfort zone, Paige said it was exciting to do something new and be part of something that will make a real difference. Some words were tricky to enunciate, but with Emma at her side, Paige tackled the challenge like any other, with determination and grace. #MagicMoment #GoPaigeGo #NewSkills #GrowthInAction #SurpriseYourselfEveryday #DisabilityInclusion MEM Media

Earlier this month, we had the joy of cohosting a BCI "Cup of Joy" meeting at World Wide Technology’s North American Integration Center (NAIC) campus in Edwardsville. The purpose was to connect with local business leaders from Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair Counties to discuss inclusive hiring and the positive impact of employing individuals with disabilities. One highlight was hearing from Paul, a BCI referral hired last October. Paul recently began training as a Water Spider, a key support role that keeps work flowing smoothly. He was excited to take on the challenge, and his supervisor, Tom, couldn’t say enough great things about his progress! Since BCI started providing services in Illinois in January 2024, WWT has been an incredible partner. To date, five BCI referrals with disabilities have been hired or are in the talent acquisition pipeline. Join us in saluting WWT for fostering a culture of inclusion. George R.
