#COP29 recap! ? ?? COP29 successfully supported global carbon markets! ??At this meeting, the international community achieved consensus on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement—which has been nine years in the making! ??With the adoption of Article 6.2 and 6.4, we now have clear rules for international carbon markets, including mechanisms for two-party cooperation and multi-actor marketplace actions. This unlocks new opportunities for greater trust, enhanced transparency, accelerated collaboration, and interoperability across instruments—all critical for scaling climate solutions. ? ?? At Boomitra, we?re celebrating a fruitful COP29: ??We joined bilateral meetings with ministers and policymakers from countries where Boomitra works or plans to work. In our host countries, officials were eager to help farmers access international climate finance, strengthening resilience and food security. Meanwhile, leaders from developed nations expressed support for our mission to foster global climate action. ??Boomitra participated in high-level roundtables and panels across COP29, contributing insights on farming, carbon markets, and agricultural policies. ? ??As we continue to connect farmers in the Global South to international carbon finance, we're proud to help drive both?climate resilience and food security?worldwide. ? 关于我们
Boomitra works with farmers and ranchers worldwide to increase soil carbon through improved agricultural practices and generate internationally certified carbon removal credits. We use proprietary AI and satellite technology to monitor, report, and verify (MRV) soil organic carbon to a 30cm+ depth, without physical soil sampling, reducing measurement costs by 99%. The process is cost-efficient, time effective, and scalable across various landholding sizes – enabling Boomitra to work globally: 5M+ acres, 150,000+ farmers, 4 continents, millions of credits sold to date. Boomitra sells the carbon credits to corporations and governments worldwide, enabling them to meet their sustainability goals. Farmers and landowners earn the vast majority of proceeds from each carbon credit sold, allowing them to re-invest in their farms and local communities. Boomitra means “Friend of the Earth” in Sanskrit. That is who we are and hope to inspire others to be. Learn more at boomitra.com

Aadith Moorthy says that SMEs know what works: "They've been engaged in the local communities, they have their boots on the ground. I don't want to parachute in from Silicon Valley and go into a local community and tell the farmer what to do." presented by Mastercard

Half of Mexico is covered by arid or semi-arid climates, making it highly susceptible to drought. This problem is only getting exacerbated by climate change. Boomitra’s Northern Mexico Grasslands Project, led by Octavio Andrés Prieto Wisbrun, is working to combat these challenges by empowering 139 ranchers across 2 million acres with regenerative practices designed to build drought resilience and restore ecosystems. Our latest article, an interview with Octavio, explores the power of regenerative ranching, the cultural importance of ranching, and what it feels like to be part of the restoration movement. “It's inspiring to see ranches that have embraced regenerative practices now thriving with greater biodiversity. Every time I visit one, I’m motivated by how much resilience the ranchers have built, even in tough weather conditions,” says Octavio. “As both a rancher and a Boomitra team member, my goal is to support my ranching community, which holds deep personal meaning for me. Growing up in a ranching family, I understand the challenges of sustaining a business and supporting a family through it.” Read the full article:?https://lnkd.in/gktaRSJm

Sebastián Vangeli and Dr. Soumya Shree K are back with another carbon hacker #tipoftheweek! ?? Soil is nature’s medicine chest. Did you know that some of our most powerful antibiotics, like penicillin, come from the soil beneath our feet?? ??Soil is teeming with microbes that have helped us fight infections for decades. Next time you walk on the earth, remember—you're stepping on nature's pharmacy! ?? So by restoring soil, Boomitra is supporting human and ecosystem health. #TeamMemberSpotlight: Meet our Senior Data Scientist Will Stedden, who brings Midwest roots and a passion for sustainable agriculture to our team!? ?? Growing up in the corn and soy fields of the Midwest, Will has always had a deep connection to farm work. “I grew up surrounded by large-scale monocrops for animal feed, which left me wanting a more regenerative approach to agriculture. Now, I’m excited by the potential of soil carbon to store large amounts of carbon affordably in the near future,” he says. Today, Will lives in Madison, Wisconsin, where he monitors soil carbon storage at scale. ?? With a background in biophysics and over eight years of experience in data science across healthcare and other industries, he brings expertise in data science, statistics, and machine learning to our team.? ?? A fact that gives Will hope: “While forest fires release CO?, they also produce biochar, which enriches soil and helps store carbon in a stable form that doesn’t break down easily. Over time, regrowing trees take in even more carbon, resulting in a net increase in carbon storage.” This unique perspective reinforces his commitment to data-driven insights into soil carbon. ?? Will is an avid biker and has traversed all across Wisconsin, and has biked from Seattle to Los Angeles and from Chicago to the Atlantic. We’re grateful to have Will helping us lead change in the soil carbon world! ?? Learn more about our science and tech: https://lnkd.in/gRgqmpA3?

“One start-up in India may have found a way to make [regenerative agriculture] commercially viable for farmers...” CNA recently featured Boomitra, showcasing our work at the intersection of climate action, land restoration, and farmer livelihoods. The segment includes a visit to Seema Rani's farm in India, where regenerative practices are transforming the land and unlocking new economic opportunities. Read some outtakes:? ?? “[Farmers’] innovative farmlands are helping them become financially independent while also playing a role in tackling an urgent, global crisis.”? ?? “A new green revolution is taking root.”? ?? “Roughly half of India’s total land mass, about the size of Mongolia, is used for cultivation. It?s been an untapped resource so far that can potentially benefit the whole world.” Watch the full video:?https://lnkd.in/gbeZeX-J Learn about our work across the Global South:?https://lnkd.in/ggiB4hUm

CEMUNE hosted a packed house for its successful Goals House event last night at #COP29 which saw leading government and business leaders gather for a truly frank and open discussion about why the world isn’t achieving our climate goals fast enough, why #climateaction moves at a glacial pace, and what businesses REALLY require to make the on-the-ground transformations required across all sectors. Judging by the enthusiasm of participants and the excellent questions, we could have extended our discussion several hours. Input came from several CEOs representing global businesses, government leaders and, in particular, Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Mahmoud Mohieldin, Wendy Woods, Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Norbert Gori?en, Matthew Bell, Barry Parkin, Fiona Howarth, Nigel Topping, CMG and many more. Here are just a few examples of what we heard: ?? “The climate change process rewards politicians for their promises, not their performances. It’s the opposite in business: we would never judge a CEO on their promises, but instead on their performances. Let’s create a race to the top through incentives, rankings and recognition. Right now there are none.” ?? “We need to change our approach. The average CEO is in place for three years and politicians for less than that. We need to establish longer-term thinking and goals.” ?? “The global negotiations process is important, but we need to worry less about what progress governments are making and instead focus on the progress business is making.” ?? “Businesspeople need to stand up and figure out the case they’re making over the long term because business as usual clearly isn’t good enough.” ?? “This has been an amazing conversation.” CEMUNE thanks Goals House for their ongoing incredible support and for hosting this event in the beautiful and historic Mugam Club Restaurant here in #Baku. Clearly, there is a big appetite for these high-level discussions and CEMUNE will keep the ball rolling in 2025 through its #Business4Climate initiative and through our exclusive Global Circle.?If your organization wants in, please DM us directly and let’s talk!
