Major changes are coming for Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Coverage in 2025. Most notably for enrollees is the new $2,000 annual cap on out of pocket costs for covered drugs. If you reach this amount, the plan will pay 100% of your medication costs for the remainder of the calendar year. Medicare is also launching a new Prescription Payment Plan which requires all Part D plans to provide enrollees with the option to pay out-of-pocket prescription drug costs in the form of monthly payments over the course of the plan year instead of all at once to the pharmacy. Either way you get your Part D, whether through a Medicare Advantage plan or stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan, the changes apply.
