Bonito Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to join our Protein Biochemistry team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research by supporting recombinant protein and conducting plate-based biological assays. Key Responsibilities: Perform recombinant protein expression and purification using mammalian and bacterial systems Operate and maintain AKTA chromatography systems for protein purification Analyze proteins by SDS-PAGE, HPLC, and endotoxin testing to guide purification processes Support molecular cloning efforts to design and optimize expression constructs Conduct cell culture work, including maintenance and transfection of mammalian cell lines for protein production Develop and execute plate-based biochemical assays such as AlphaScreen/AlphaLISA, HTRF, fluorescence polarization, ELISA Elucidate compound potency in different biochemical assays Analyze and interpret experimental data, maintaining detailed and accurate laboratory records Collaborate across teams to meet project timelines and goals Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with 1-3 years of industry experience? Hands-on experience with protein expression and purification, chromatography systems, molecular cloning, and tissue culture Familiarity with plate-based assays such as, AlphaSreen/AlphaLISA, HTRF, fluorescence polarization, ELISA is strongly preferred Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience in assay development and troubleshooting Familiarity with other chromatography techniques and biophysical protein characterization methods Why Join Us? As a member of the selection team at Bonito, you will play a critical role in constructing new libraries, evolving our proprietary display technologies, and conducting selections to discover new classes of therapeutics. This role will also involve working across disciplines as you interact with colleagues skilled at informatic data analysis, immunology, and chemistry. As a Research Associate at Bonito, you will play a critical role in continuing the development of our proprietary DNA Encoded Library (Bonito DEL or B-DEL) platform, carrying out selections to discover new classes of ligands for therapeutic applications. You will get to work across disciplines, interacting with colleagues skilled at informatic data analysis and medicinal chemistry. ??
