Rebekah, a former ballet dancer, was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 28 years old. After taking coursework as an exercise professional, she learned about the importance of building bone density early in life and decided to get a bone density test, which led to her diagnosis. Since then, she has made significant lifestyle changes—improving her nutrition with more protein, calcium, and vitamins, while reducing sugar, and adopting a stronger exercise routine that includes weight-bearing exercises and strength training. Rebekah emphasizes that bone health is adaptive, and through proactive steps, many fractures can be prevented. She wants others to know that there is hope—plenty of options are available to help manage the disease and live a full, active life. https://lnkd.in/e-8bZFgh #40FacesOfOsteoporosis #BoneHealth #OsteoporosisAwareness

Sally was diagnosed with osteoporosis in her late 50s when a bone density test was recommended after a fall. The results showed full osteoporosis in her hips and spine, and with a family history of the condition, including her mother and sisters, she knew she had to take action. She embraced a healthier lifestyle, focusing on nutrition, weight-bearing exercise, and vitamin D from the sun. Sally became a strong advocate for good bone health, encouraging others to take proactive steps and set an example for younger generations. She believes that teaching kids the importance of calcium, exercise, and setting short-term goals can help lead to long-term bone strength. Sally's journey proves that with the right knowledge and habits, it's possible to live a healthy, vibrant life despite osteoporosis. https://lnkd.in/eUiuM2eT #40FacesOfOsteoporosis #BoneHealth #OsteoporosisAwareness

"When we think about building strong bones, we must think food first," Chef Nick Stellino says. "Calcium, vitamin D, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats are the building blocks for creating strong bones for people of all ages. These are ingredients that I'm passionate about using and I'm thrilled my recipe will help people enjoy good food that is good for them!" https://lnkd.in/eZa6mdkn

Cheryl was diagnosed with osteoporosis at the age of 34, following a routine hormonal screening due to being in menopause. The diagnosis was a wake-up call, revealing osteoporosis in her lower back and hip area. This condition has affected her daily life, causing significant back pain and limiting her ability to do everyday activities. Cheryl is now undergoing an infusion treatment every six months to strengthen her bones while also participating in an exercise group to further support her bone health. Her advice to others diagnosed at a young age: give yourself grace, take care of your body, and find what works best for you. Cheryl's journey emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis, bone-strengthening treatments, and self-care. https://lnkd.in/guCmNf_Y #40FacesOfOsteoporosis #BoneHealth #OsteoporosisAwareness
