In celebration of Women’s History Month, we honor the remarkable efforts of our founder, Penny Bond, who established our firm in 1982. As one of the pioneering female financial planners in the country, Penny demonstrated immense strength and courage, often being the sole woman at industry conferences. Today, we are proud to have three female planners on our team, reflecting the growing presence of women in the financial planning industry, which currently stands at approximately 33%. A diverse team, comprising individuals with varied experiences and backgrounds, has been instrumental in our firm's success. Embracing diversity remains a core principle in all our endeavors. Today is International Women’s Day 2025, and this year’s theme is #AccelerateAction. At the current rate of progress, it will take five more generations (until 2158!) to achieve full gender parity. It was an incredible event where women across industries, life stages, and backgrounds came together to collaborate. The focus was about #Caregiving. One of our favorite days of the year is volunteering at the Minnesota Vets Home. Our team and a group of our clients sponsored Bingo for one of the largest groups of residents we’ve had. One resident commented, “Bond&Devick Bingo is better than normal Bingo, it’s like a party!” Knowing we added some joy to their day is all we can ask for.

Every year we close the office for a day and gather as a team for our Strategic Planning Meeting. Everyone participates, all voices are heard. This dedicated time is rewarding and beneficial to focus on the business side of B&D. We accomplished so much and followed it up with a friendly bowling competition! #teamwork

As LTW’s Founder, Katie Hjelmstad Severt, MBA, shared, Bond&Devick was one of the earliest partners to join her in this transformative movement. It is truly inspiring to witness Katie’s unwavering passion and dedication as she continues to champion women’s health. Today we commemorate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., whose tireless efforts and vision for a fair and equal society are observed annually. However, as his wife astutely noted, the significance of his work should be recognized daily. Bond&Devick will be closed to in observation of this important holiday.
