This week, we’re highlighting some of our BSMH advanced practice clinicians (APCs) to show our ongoing appreciation for the compassionate care they provide every day. We want to express our gratitude for all APCs for continuing to serve our communities with expertise, compassion and commitment. To our nearly 1,326 APCs – we thank you for the compassionate care you provide our patients. Today's APC is Keith Hart, a nurse practioner in our Richmond, Virginia market.

Recently, Southside Medical Center had two great days of volunteering in the community. Members of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team volunteered at a Community Day hosted by a local church, taking blood pressures and educating the community on hypertension and diabetes. Then members of the PACU and Endoscopy teams volunteered at the goodr mobile grocery store in downtown Petersburg. Both of these were wonderful chances to lend a helping hand, promote heart health, and connect with our community.

Showing love and compassion to one another is rooted in our mission and everyday actions. Today, we join others around the world to commit to peace above all differences.

Today, we pause and remember. May we honor the lives that were lost, and give thanks for the first responders and service members who served and saved.

Congratulations to Bon Secours Hampton Roads market president Pat Davis-Hagens, who was named to the Virginia 500: The 2024-2025 Power List by Virginia Business for the third year in a row. Pat speaks enthusiastically about the construction of the Harbour View Medical Center, an $80 million, 98,000-square-foot hospital scheduled for completion in Suffolk in spring 2025. She is passionate about expanding access to care, and the new hospital, as the former nurse has pointed out, will allow residents of northern Suffolk and western Hampton Roads to stay in their communities for surgery.
