We are THRILLED to announce that Kelly Camp has joined BOMA Austin as our new Executive Director! Kelly Camp began her career and her journey with BOMA Austin on the vendor side in 2002, quickly immersing herself in the organization’s mission. Within just a week, Jack Drummond had her serving on a committee, and she never looked back. Over the past 23 years, 19 of which she spent at The Steam Team, Kelly has played an integral role in BOMA Austin, serving on every single committee, planning two Southwest Regional Conferences and chairing both the Fall Extravaganza and Golf Committees for four years. She has also served on the BOMA Austin Board, drafted the Tiered Sponsorship Program, and acted as a vital Vendor/Manager liaison. Kelly’s dedication and impact have not gone unnoticed—she is a proud four-time recipient of the Allied Member of the Year Award, a testament to her unwavering commitment to the organization and the industry. A diehard Razorback fan, Kelly is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and has lived in Austin since 1994. She resides in Apache Shores on Lake Austin with her husband John, son Charlie, their dog Tucker, and their crested gecko, Paul McCartney. An active and engaged member of her community, Kelly serves as Committee Chair for Cub Scout Pack 440, Home Room Mom and Chaperone for her son’s 4th-grade class and organizer of the regular Apache Shores Vendor Market. Her passion for bringing people together and fostering community involvement is at the heart of everything she does. Known as the "crazy plant lady," Kelly Camp has a love for succulents, gardening, travel and dancing. She still laces up her tap shoes and takes karate classes with her son Charlie. Her dream is to open an event space where she can offer low-cost pottery classes, plant workshops, dance classes, craft-making, and free self-defense classes for everyone. ? WELCOME KELLY! ?

Last month, our very own Vanessa M. Vercher, RPA?and Sam Whiteside had the opportunity to represent BOMA Austin meet with Police Chief Lisa Davis, Chief of Staff Robin Henderson, and Executive Staffing Lieutenant Carey Chaudoir of the Austin Police Department. Their discussion focused on strengthening the partnership between BOMA Austin and APD, particularly now that the new police contract has been signed. Key topics of their discussion included: ? Ways BOMA Austin can actively support APD ? Keeping the dialogue open through luncheons and speaking events ? Creative advocacy for CRE issues and political candidates, especially since many of our members don’t vote in Travis County ? Partnering with APD to share security reports and incident updates impacting our members' buildings We are excited to continue collaborating and finding meaningful ways to support both APD and the commercial real estate industry!
