Our newest cohort of residents joined us in the Boldsquare offices for the first time this week, meeting with clients and getting a taste of what’s to come. We’re excited to work alongside this talented group and see what they’ll achieve over the next few months. Earlier this year we launched a course credit marketing agency residency program in conjunction with Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, and as part of that, our residents split into two agency groups to each work on real-life projects for genuine clients with real marketing needs. It’s been a pleasure to watch those students battle with their challenges (and occasionally each other) as they’ve sought to meet their objectives. This weekend, I sat in a board meeting as one of the clients shared operational progress with directors. Twice during the meeting, the findings and recommendations of one of the student agencies were raised and highlighted as a possible way forward for the organization in a particular area. That’s a pretty amazing demonstration of the progress these residents have made during the course of just one semester. We’ve already agreed to run the course again in the fall, and the marketing department has been deluged with student applications to take part. With what we at Boldsquare have learned alongside this first cohort, we’re confident it’s going to be even better the second time around.
