The BOLDERBoulder was founded in 1979 as a small, local 10K, and since has grown to 50,000 participants.

In 1979 we dreamt of attracting a few hundred of our friends to race though the streets of Boulder, Colorado to celebrate Memorial Day with our families. Fast forward almost 44 years and the BOLDERBoulder has grown to become one of the largest and most highly acclaimed 10K’s in the world. Named America’s All-Time Best 10K by Runner’s World, it is the 3rd largest running race in the United States and the 7th largest in the world. Almost 1.2 million runners, joggers, walkers and spectators of all ages have gathered over the years to create a spectacle that defies description. Olympic medal winners and hopefuls, grandmothers and kids, running enthusiasts and one-race-a-year guests from all over the world come together at the foot of the Rocky Mountains to form one of the sport’s truly unique events. Each year we host 50,000+ participants and 100,000+ spectators throughout the course for what we like to call the biggest and best Memorial Day celebration on earth. The BOLDERBoulder is still locally owned and operated, and our dream continues. This event has taken on a life that we never quite envisioned, and it rewards us every year beyond measure. We hope you will join us to celebrate fitness, our country and this great state of ours, Colorado.

We are still reeling over the joy and excitement of another successful BOLDERBoulder that took place on May 27, 2024. A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, sponsors, and outside sources for all the help of putting on America's All-Time Best 10K! Some race highlights include: - Over 48,000 race registrations - CU Boulder's Chancellor Phillip DiStefano was the official race starter - Susannah Scaroni set a new wheelchair course record with a time of 23:31 - USA's Conner Mantz defended his champion title of the Men's Pro Race with a time of 29:12 - Kenya's Grace Loibach Nawowuna won the Women's Pro Race with a time of 32:45 - An F-16 flyover from the Colorado Air National Guard for our Memorial Day Tribute in Folsom Field Onto BOLDERBoulder 2025!

With over 70,000 spectators, and 48,000 racers, the #BOLDERBoulder has become the nation’s largest Memorial Day celebration where the race ends in Folsom Stadium at the beautiful University of Colorado Boulder. An important part of the #BOLDERBoulder is to honor the men and women who have served our country during peace and war, particularly those who paid the supreme sacrifice, in defense of the U.S.A. Thank you for the continued partnership Cliff Bosley and to all our public safety partners for making it an amazing and memorable event for all.

WHAT A RUN - 48,165 Runners Strong! Back in 1979, the Bank of Boulder CEO Steve Bosley asked Genesis Inc Founder Jim Adler to help him create the BOLDERBoulder 10K. This Memorial Day, the next-gen of Bosleys and Genesians celebrate those who have served our country, the Best 10K in the world, and the longevity of a client+agency partnership that has lasted for over 4 decades!
